[SYNC 3 update to version 2.3]

Lincoln have an update to SYNC 3 from version 2.2 to version 2.3. Here is a link: https://owner.lincoln.com/tools/account/how-tos/keep-your-sync-up-to-date.html to the update process. The Wi-Fi connection does not seem to work but this link will get you to a download process that several people have used to update their new Continentals.

 

The download procedure allows you to download the software to your computer (only 1.6 GB) and unzip and copy the folder and 2 files to a USB drive. Place the USB drive in the car's USB receptacle after starting the car and drive for 20 minutes for the update to complete. There is nothing to do while process is loading (a notice appears on top of display that update is in process) and at finish you are notified to remove the USB and close the display. The version 2.3 update takes effect after shutting off the ignition and restarting after a while.

 

The USB is updated with an XML file that includes your VIN and you use it to report your update to Lincoln.
