This is concerning...very unlike a real mustang..but as we are getting skoled on now the real mustang is a falcon so this is all ok..cheap china torque motors, weaker magnets..lesser current flow..ford went with range first and foremost and truthfully thats the critical feature 99% out there want along with quick charge...but its a falcon so all is good..fords new prius is not a mustang...chebby ruined SS heritage and ford has done the same..

You are a genius!  Ford ruined a name with a car that is not in the market yet?  Let the car be finished, launched and in the market... let the car show its capabilities and then you can say Ford ruined something. Ok?

Bill will say whatever to sell vehicles. does this sound like something you’d expect to hear about a vehicle with the mustang name on it?

“While I will say that getting a ride in a prototype is fun in itself, I didn’t find the Mach-E’s driving characteristics particularly exciting. The car didn’t feel that quick during the hard launch, nor did it feel like it handled the slalom with sports-car precision. It felt soft, I thought.

Granted, I had just spent the day driving the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT500, which are in a different league than the Mach-E in both handling and acceleration. Plus, my ride-along was super short, but nonetheless, my initial impression was “meh.” Even though I know that, deep down, crossover buyers will probably be content with it.”

    https://www.automobilemag.com/news/2021-ford-mustang-mach-e-ev-suv-first-ride-review/

“Dropping the hammer in a Mach-E is nothing like dropping the hammer in a Mustang coupe, and if anything, our ride shone some sunlight on what is essentially propaganda.“

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.caranddriver.com/news/amp29820421/2021-ford-mustang-mach-e-prototype-ride/

“When our test driver did a zero-to-60-mph launch, we didn't feel as much of a shove from the instantaneous torque as expected. It didn't quite feel as quick as when we put the pedal to the floor in our long-term Tesla Model 3. It did, however, feel balanced on a slalom course, and we could see why Ford is claiming that the Mach-E will be its best-handling SUV to date.“

These are the quotes from the first 3 articles I found on google about the first ride impressions of the Mach e. Don’t get me wrong, the articles have lots of good stuff in them and they all agree that it’s a fine vehicle. But shouldn’t they walk away from this ride thinking that the mustang name belongs on it? That in itself seems like a fail (naming wise, not the vehicle) to me.

Perfect! You choose the bad comments... only the bad comments. Thanks! Now I know what is wrong with the car... and is not much, at all

Go here and just scroll down to the comments. These people are some of the ones Ford is trying to reach Looks to me that the vast majority say "That's not a Mustang...calling it that is dumb"

That people are not interested in buy one Mustang Mach E... only are envy because it is out of their economics reach. see the profile of the people that comment

  4. I cant understand why all those guys are complaining because Ford uses its stregths to sell more cars. Mustang is an icon, and associate a product with this name  can help to sell it better. The Mustang Mach E is a Mustang, because is a powerful, fast and very atractive (maybe the more beautiful Ford today...) car.  Why not call it Mustang?

Sorry, I should have qualified the vehicles mentioned in my post as "volume products"

It is definitly "two Fords", those primarily for North America and those that are not.

Of course if you're in the outside world it's spun differently but head office most

definitly calls it the way I did, Ford cannot afford to keep selling the vehicles it

does globally when Ranger and Transit are the only ones making real profit.

"Volume products" ? What is the number above which you consider a product to be a "volume product"? Are you in charge of deciding that? Since when? And how do you know that the Bronco and Mach E will not meet that level of sales? Do you already know the level of sales they will have? You say that the Mustang is not a "volume product", but you forget that it is the best selling coupe / convertible in the world. And the Explorer is not a "volume product" either?

    Friend, you are wrong.

Slow down, you're connecting a lot of dots that don't go together.

VW alliance is partnering for Europe and ROW only, Ford absolutely

refused to let VW have access to Ranger and Transit for North America.

What we're seeing is the evolving of "Two Fords", vehicles for North America

and vehicles for Europe/ROW., Ranger, Transit, Escape and "Fusion crossover"

will probably be the only vehicles shared between the two.

You are wrong. Ford sell in Europe the Explorer and the Mustang coupe and convertible. The Bronco and the Mustang Mach E will be sold in Europe too. Only the small cars are exclusives for Europe and China (Fiesta and Focus), and large sedans only for China (Fusion, Taurus). Is not a "one Ford", but neither "2 Fords"  . What I see is a distribution of the products depending of the tastes of the customers.

Many here accused me of being a troll by saying that Ford was about to start a Mustang sub-brand by launching Mach E. Gradually time is giving me the reason. The new Ford EV will carry the "Mustang" emblem on its body. If the name "Mustang" applies to several vehicles of different nature, what is that called?

    Greetings guys.

As much as I dislike the Vette, laying predetermined failure of it at MBs feet is far-fetched.

This car is named "Zora" for a reason (the last name of the original Vette chief engineer that wanted it to go ME for the 1970s), also pre-BK GM green-lit a ME Vette in 06'-07' before the recession but the Vette program was saved only by sticking to FE for the current Sting-Ray, on a sidenote not many supercars will have the maintenance and ease of a LT V8.

For price, many inside guys says only a $5k increase base price.

About the price, is not what the press say. The new "Corvette" will cost much more than the C7. And a 180000 $ midsize super car is not a car for the typical Corvette´s customer

You’re talking to a guy who insists a mustang sub brand is a thing despite everyone telling him otherwise. You might as well talk to a wall.

What is your problem with me, guy?. Is this forum a dictadirship?. I feel free to give my opinions as everyone else does here. If you do not like them, then do not read me. Do you think that because you are related in some way to the industry and, possibly, to Ford, you have the exclusive right to express your opinion? Maybe you only work for a company that does the maintenance of some Ford office in Detroit. Your opinions and your "exclusive revelations" prove it. Maybe you can only peek at a desk from time to time or hear what a Ford engineer says. Your post makes it look like that. I think it's time for you to dedicate yourself to your life and let me give my opinion in peace.

This looks good................REALLY good (just lose the pony badge!)

    ford-mustang-jpg.353728

This thing looks like a Mustang.  Is a Mustang for a time without sedans and cars.

This thing will carry the “eléctric” pony badge at the front of the body. And this thing will be called Mustang Mach E.

And this is good for Ford because this thing will be selling like hotcakes.

  11. This image is from the Ford Spain Twitter account. Is a mistake? Maybe Ford planned to show the Puma in the Go futher event, but for something thay canceled it and the CM of the account didnt received the advise.  If not, why to show in twitter a car one day after de event?

Whatever, the Puma is ready. But what is the Puma? An EcoSport replacement? A new B- segment crossover to fill the C-Max space?

    We will know it soon...image1.thumb.jpeg.e71a0b655437a010438f0fe7b6c9ce10.jpeg
