I don't understand the disdain for EcoBoosts and hybrids.  I mean, same or more power, more torque, MUCH better torque curve, and better fuel economy when you aren't using all that power.  Why prefer an inferior product?  I just don't get it.

Owning a few 6.2 SD’s and frequenting the ford truck forums I can tell you that the most trouble free motor Ford puts in a truck is the 6.2. In the 150 the MPG difference between 5.0 and 3.5 EB is minimal with the 5.0 being a much simpler motor. EcoBoost is a whole lot of hype IMO.

Why would you/anyone be opposed to any technology that gives you better gas mileage and reduces your carbon footprint?  What would be wrong with a future Super Duty that has the same power but increased range because of some "hybrid junk".  What is wrong with capturing the energy lost when braking?  What if start-stop was seamless?  I understand concerns about range, temperature, power etc., but simple objection to any "electric stuff" makes no sense.

If I ran the number on buying a vehicle with hybrid technology I find it highly unlikely it would pay off for me. The electric grid in this country cannot handle a mass change to electrics anyway.

Start stop can be as seamless as possible but it will never be the same as the engine running. I don’t  want to press a switch every time i get in a vehicle either. I have mostly found the nonsense behind reducing carbon footprints and increasing MPG to cost consumers quite a bit of money in the long run.

All this talk of a hybrid Bronco is hilarious too, give me a 5 liter or I won’t buy one (my last onewas a 94 and would love to buy a new one someday but no V8 is a deal breaker for me).

  3. Two guys at work are waiting on the V8 to replace 2012s so if its not coming there are going to be in my view a fair amount of dissappointed potential customers. Would have been on my shopping list when I bought my SD but no V8 crosses it off my list.

With the SD and 150 sharing so many components now if they are not going to put 7 liter in just offer the 6.2 as base motor in Raptor for those who must have a V8.

    Once again:

The reason this stuff is added to the car isn't for individual nameplate MPG improvement-its Ford responsibility to meet CAFE requirements.

I'm pretty sure that every Ford product that has gone though a refresh in the past 18 months has it, save the Mustang-but I never cared to look since it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things to me.

I disagree CAFE says nothing about requiring start stop, it's Ford's choice to add it. Find other ways to improve fuel economy without sticking people with something they don't want. The fact that 2018 Raptors have start stop is mind boggling.

Good feedback from a real owner of a F product..or may be a good GM shape shifter but i digress....this is the feedback i like and i hope somebody at ford reads this forum....leave this type of eco stuff out of the new bronco...anybody that buys a bronco for for mpg needs to just go out and buy a kia....

Agreed with the Bronco, 5 liter in the Bronco or expect a lot of very disappointed Bronco fanatics. I gave up on waiting for new one and looking for 94-96 Bronco (had a 94 back in the day that I still dearly miss).

  6. lost sales to Autostop/ start ?...hilarious....lazy asses...how long does it actually take to push a button??????? if that's an excuse its as lame as hell....and ^ note Pioneers response.

Yes they have lost actual sales to it he said. A $60k (ok say really $50k after rebates) truck has a feature that saves maybe $50 a year? What is the reasoning behind a feature like that? I am not modifying anything including the electronics of a $50k vehicle brand new, would you? Ford should just get rid of the start stop, if it was an option no one would get it.
