[2019 MKC Headlamps - LED?]

@rperez817, I will. Good to know the press release has LED headlamps mentioned which can show the dealer.

 

Dealer said Ford confirmed headlights are HID with LED signature lights. He also showed me presumably an updated order guide with the same information. If that is just for Canada I am not sure but I highly doubt that these features differ between US and Canadian versions.

 

It is a little disappointing considering some mainstream vehicles in this category like Chev Equinox, Toyota RAV4, Honda CRV, GMC Terrain all offer LED headlights as an option.

You're welcome vee_eye sir. It's weird that the owner manual makes reference to both HID and LED headlamps. In the PDF Owner's manual, the bulb specification chart on page 354 says headlamps use LED. But page 300 says HID. Plus there's confusion with what the order guide and window sticker says as others have mentioned.

 

The press release for 2019 MKC says the following. "The 2019 Lincoln MKC exemplifies the refined new face of Lincoln. Thanks everyone for the quick replies. I will go back to the dealership to check in person and ask them clarify with Ford as well.

 

The same same owner manual @rperez817 mentioned above make no mention about LED headlamps under Maintenance section

Thank you all for the wealth of information here.

 

I am considering a 2019 MKC. The Lincoln website and the order guides here say the headlamps are LED. However, the window stickers of all 2019s available at 2 local dealerships says they all have HID headlamps with LED signature lighting. And the ones I saw in person didn't seem to have LEDs and looked same as 2018 HIDs.

 

Any thoughts on which one is correct? Or are the LED to be added later in the model year?
