  1. I do want to do some type of rust prevention. I lost a F-150 and Dodge Ram in Mass due to rust and I don't want a $90-K vehicle to last just 5 years. I did my 2018 Rubicon and 2016 Ram with Wax-Oil and am happy with it so I'm talking myself into doing it again. It's not cheep at $850. It's a one time application underneath but yearly in the panels. I'm really just concerned with the underneath though. Some have stated it may plug up drain lines but the only drain I'm aware of is the AC. I'm pretty confident they do not blindly spray this stuff as there is a 2 hr prep to cover sensitive areas and a 2 hr spray. Krown is not offer around us or I would do that even though it's a yearly application at $150.
  2. So we ordered our Nav and chose Blue diamond because we liked that color. Are the premium paints a better paint where they would not chip or fade as easily or just more expensive because they are harder to mix or something along those lines? $695 is a hefty price adder. I would only be inclined to change to a premium paint if it held up better. Thanks...
  3. I just checked the closest Krown location and I would have a 2.5hr drive each way to the closest. The good news is it's not an overnight application. Application cost is $150 yearly. If it were closer, that would be the way to go.
  4. Looks like Krown oil a yearly application? From videos, I looks like it does the job though and it's initial cost are a cheep alternative to my previous vehicle treatments. However, I'd rather not undercoat at all if the Nav is all aluminum and stainless lines underneath and totally immune to rust. I really didn't get an answer at the dealership. They just wanted a sale. It would be great to understand if this new Nav has totally addressed all material changes regarding longevity. Thanks for all your inputs. Rich
  5. Thanks for the feedback. It would save me two trips, car rental and $850. So nothing under the new Nav will rust. Are the brake lines stainless? Is there any place I could read up on what's different now that prevents rust like Galvanization or more Aluminum in the frame? I know of late Ford is using a lot more aluminum for weight but even my last Nav had a creeping rust between the paint and the aluminum back hatch. But underneath is my main concern. I lost my dodge ram and ford F-150 due to salts and I always spray off when possible. Shame on me for getting fooled the third time.
  6. Of late, We have been undercoating our newer vehicles as the salts in the north were eating the frame to pieces. I had read there is a lot of aluminum in the new Nav. Has anyone decided to do an undercoating on theirs? There is a place in NH that has a one and done black tar type of undercoating that looks good but I'm not sure if these Navigators have the same rust issues of past. My 2007-1/2 F-150 damn near broke in half in 8 yrs. I plan to keep this one over 10 yrs. Rich
  7. We ordered our 2019 Reserve last week. It will prob come in near the end of the year. We previously had a 1997 Expedition, 2007 Nav and now a 2019 Nav. We did have running board retraction issues on the 2007 but that probably was the extent of our problems. Do any of you know if there was a factory extended warranty offered when you bought and what you ended paying for it and how many miles/Years it extended? I'm sort of worried the massage chair might fail Seriously though, there are a lot of new items that may break down and it may be worth the warranty this time. BTW, we drove all the luxury models from many dealers and none came close to the Nav. It was a little tough to get a dealer to do an X-Plan on the Nav as they seem to be popular. Funny thing is, I have yet to see one on the road. Rich
