  1. My 92 wedge truck has 171000 with a Metric auto trans. I started it and there is a grinding noise from hell coming from the area where the engine and trans meet. Pulled the bell housing cover and found play in the flywheel to the tune of 5 teeth side to side. Torque converter and flywheel are turning in sync and all bolts are tight. I'm thinking the flywheel bolts have come loose and maybe wallowed out the holes in the flywheel. Any suggestions or direction before I take apart as to what I need to look for? Thank you.

  2. My '91 F150 has over 300,000 and is on it's 2nd motor (5.0 V8) with 90,000 that came out of a rolled '88 Crown Vic. The truck has loped when cold since the motor was installed 10 years ago and now my grandson wants to drive it. Has no cats and only has Thrush mufflers. I just kept the accelerator pushed just a hair until it warmed up but recently it dies occasionally at idle, cold or warm. I replaced the computer 5 years ago out of a 1990 F150 because neither fuel pump would come on. Replaced the wires, rotor, cap, plugs, and ICV today. Runs much better and stronger but I still have to press on the pedal to get it to start. The CEL came on but went off before I could pull the code. Any ideas where I should go next? Thanks!

  3. My retired parents bought this 06 new and it now has 197K on the clock.  Dad was driving down the road and the engine died.  When he tried to crank it, it would not turn over so they had it towed.  The anti-theft light is flashing and does not go off, there is 12V to the data connector but neither of my code readers can link to the computer.  Used a jumper wire to the starter and the engine turns over just fine.  Disconnected the battery about 10 times and left it disconnected up to 7 days this last time.  Touched the negative and positive battery cables to drain any ghost capacitor charges.  Dealership said it is probably a fuse but all fuses checked OK...both under the hood and under the dash.  Removed the ground attached to the car above the battery, scraped paint from the surface, and used a wire brush on the connector AND surface.  There is 0 resistance between the metal and the battery ground wire.  The car will not shift out of PARK when I press the brake and the ignition is ON.  Any help would be great because we cannot afford a dealer visit right now.

    Thanks,
