Oh yeah.  This truck is mainly for RV towing so I would rather have the extra capacity.  I have seen at least two companies mentioned here and/or FTE forums.  The stock tank is 32 gallons and two I listed below are 60 gallon and 55 gallon respectively.  The additional weight should included in your capacity calculations if needed.

Diesel = 7 pounds per gallon

    • Stock tank @ 32 gallons = 224 lbs
    • S&B tank @ 60 gallons = 420 lbs
    • Titan tank @ 55 gallons = 385 lbs

    * The tanks themselves add some additional weight that isn't factored in and the weight of diesel is approximate.  Getting your truck weighed is going to be the most accurate method of determining your truck's actual weight.

I looked up the S&B and they currently don't have a gas version, only diesel.  They are also pretty pricey!  Not sure why I was surprised, everything with these trucks is pricey.  Anyway, thanks for the info.

Hahaha, mine has been very understanding with me. Very lucky. ?

What hitch are you looking at getting?

It is the one that they sell at my linex dealer. I believe it is a B&W like this.

I have several trailers and just wanted something that would not be all crappy looking and wouldn’t need a spacer because all my stuff now is 2”. I’m going to continue using the same weight dist hitch I use now for the TT though.

  5. My truck has a tentative build date of 3/7 right now.  Of course that may change but fingers crossed.  I've already ordered the following from my local Line-X dealer:

    • Premium Spray-In Bed Liner
    • LXP Folding Hard Tonneau Cover
    • Ranch Hand Legacy Grill Guard
    • Tiger Tough Seat Covers for Back Seats
    • WeatherTech Window Covers
    • Heavy Duty Multi-Use Hitch

I'm sure there will be more but these items are already on the way!

There will always be a lot of gray vehicles because people love neutral colors. The Antimatter blue is a good choice if you’re wanting one that’s not as common. Both colors look good though.

Isn't this the color that looks black almost?  Even though they look fantastic clean, I'm not a fan of black just from the showing dirt and scratches standpoint.  JMHO or course.  I've got an Anvil gray wrangler now that looks clean even when dirty.  Hoping my new Carbo gray truck is the same way.

This is so true.  I cannot remember the last time I was impressed with a salesperson's knowledge at a dealership.  I always ask how long they have worked at a dealership and it usually "a few months".  On a rare occasion they have been doing it for years.  I guess most don't last and the ones that do become sales managers.

In any case, these days I really just need a salesperson to get me the keys so I can take a test drive and pricing.  Maybe I ask them questions about what's available in stock, what's coming in, and ordering possibilities.

Part of it might be that most folks doing it now are not in it for a career, just a job.  Another part may be that things are changing so fast right now and for the last 10 years or so.  It used to be that the only real options were chrome, AC and a radio.  ?

Friend mine had LED flood lights attached on all 4 sides of his roof rack.  It came in handy one night while taking a siesta in a rest area.  Somebody was beating on his window hollering something, he hit the switch and instant daylight.  Guy took off running :)

I'm trying to decide if I need to put a roof rack on my SD..  Need to find something to do with the upfitter switches :)

    That’s awesome. Unintended upsides!

Hi everyone!  Wondering if anybody can shed some light on the situation I recently encountered.  Ordered a Super Duty in October and had all the constraint items on it so I wasn't worried about waiting.  Have buyers order with confirmed ford order specs/pricing along with deposit and copy of DL for submission to ford as a retail order.  The dealer reached out to me last Friday and stated that they received notice from Ford that their retail orders with 5th wheel gooseneck prep (53W) would need to have that option removed if the customer wanted it built.  Based on the email it referenced constraints at the mod center not so much material shortages.  It affected 10 or so of their orders and they stated that Ford would not build the trucks if the option was not removed.  In fear of having to reorder a 23my with higher pricing and longer waits, I agreed to remove the option.  They offered to install it at the dealer or obtain the parts for me and I can install myself since I was a technician for years.  Has anyone else heard of dealers receiving correspondence from Ford recently about this issue?  Thanks for your help!

Lots of discussions about this on here. Use the search or just read some posts.

2016 SCLB f150 with the 5.0 and the 331s if I'm doing any steady speed between 35 and 65 I get 28 or so hand calc'd. Stop and go in town gets me absolute shit at maybe 12.

I currently have a 7.3 on order with 373, which I'll get an aux gas tank in the bed for and probably only end up using for towing. At the price I'm ordering a new one at I can keep the 16 f150 for weekend country drives.

I kind of want the 6.7 because I feel like a diesel aux tank would be safer in a rollover, but I don't want to deal with the maintainence and my wife doesn't like diesels. She says they smell bad and their drivers won't stop revving their engines in the pharmacy drive through trying to make her heart go pitter patter.

At the end of the day if ford doesn't build me a 22 I'll buy any I can find on the lot with any engine because I don't like the look of the 21 f150s at all.

How did you get the 3.73 with the 7.3?  That is what I wanted but the 4.30 and 3.55 were the only ones available with it.

Scheduled to week means, based on shipping, your particular unit will be built that week. To day means that there's an actual rotation number assigned to your VIN. The concept of rotation number has to do with internal accountability; it's a four digit number that wraps at 9999; there's nothing else magical about this number, but it does mean that there's a specific production slot for it, and it's not just waiting.

Mine has gone back and forth for the last month, i.e., scheduled to week, then day, then week again, then day again, etc. Mine's an Expedition from KTP, and status changes even during the weeked (not just after being scheduled on Thursdays).

VERY helpful!  Thank you for the reply.

  12. If this has been answered already, my apologies, I did search first.

First of all, BIG THANKS to cyberdman for doing the order visibility look ups for truck orders, we all greatly appreciate your time and willingness to do this for us!!!

My last look up revealed that I was "Scheduled to the Day".  I notice that some are this way and some are "Scheduled to the Week".  My questions is, other than the seemingly obvious meaning, is there some benefit to being one or the other?  I'm also noticing that some folks are going back and forth between them.  Are you one and then the other normally?

Since I've had weeks and months to think about this, I get curious.  ?

    Thank You!

Hmm, I'm interested to see the video you are referring to.  I just checked out one from TFLnow and it doesn't look too difficult.  Not to mention it seems to be the same process regardless of engine type.

So, it seems that I'm "that guy", spouting knowledge I got off of Youtube from an imaginary video.  ?  Sorry about that.  I can't find any video now.  I think it was probably a combination of different ones.  I saw the TFL one I think, where they had to take off the entire grill, and remembered it was the diesel, which is wrong.  Then there was another video where I watched a guy come at the bulbs from the wheel wells.  I thought he said something about it being possible because it was the "gasser" instead of the 6.7 but I rewatched it and there seems to be nothing in that video about that at all.  Then there are the several videos where they describe how tight things are under the hood with the 6.7 and how much room there is with the 7.3.  The only one I can find now I remember mentions changing spark plugs, nothing about the lights.  Since that is three strikes, guess I'm out.  Hahaha.  I do always tell people that I'd not want to ride any anything I had helped fix.  ?

    Please disregard my prior mis-statement.

For me, towing and toys keep getting bigger, it’s like a drug. I would have preferred to go 7.3, but we had been looking at a 15,000lb camper and I didn’t want to be unhappy later. If you don’t have any future plans of a bigger trailer, or not hauling heavy often, I think you’ll love the simplicity of owning the 7.3.

This is why I went 7.3.  I don't have mine yet, but I did not want to do the 6.7 because of the extra up front cost, extra maintenance cost, and how expensive everything is to change/fix.  Just a headlight replacement is huge according to what I've watched on YouTube.  My heaviest trailer is 7K or so.  I got the 4.30 gears so will lose a couple MPG I've heard.  If I get over 12 I'll be happy.  My 12 Ecoboost got 13-14 normally is all.  Probably the way I drove it.

They have to stick it out on the front line for a week, so they can attract buyers.  ?  No, shouldn't take that long..unless something arrived broken and the parts will take a bit to arrive.  I'd suggest driving there and looking at it now.

If this is the case, I’d be ???!  Been waiting for months and now a bunch of other folks are going to be pressing their noses to her windshield and their belt loop hung keys to her painted sides???  Not on my watch. Go down there and watch them do their prep and get your truck!

Mine took two weeks, I told the dealer I would pay extra for them to go down and get it but they could not.

That's was a long two weeks! I felt like that fat kid in front of a candy store window waiting for the store to open......it was a brutal wait!

Holy cow, I hope that doesn’t happen to me. So frustrating!

My neighbor won't use an automatic car wash anymore. The spinning cloth caught his wiper, ripped it off and flailed the car with it. Shattered the windshield  and beat the roof and hood. Company says not their fault.

OMG!  My boss told me years ago that one did that with his antennae. I was going to post that here but have always kind of thought he was fibbing to me. ???

    Guess he wasn’t after all.
