Absolutely beautiful truck! I'm really digging that dark marsala interior as well. I waffled back and forth on it for my F250 Star White Platinum (Scheduled 2/14), so glad I stuck with it.

I absolutely love the interior, it has a rich look and the leather is super soft.  I opted for vinyl floors and I like them.  They are a tad glossy but I will get used to it.

Thanks appreciate the info,  a few more questions, the wiring harness is it available when you pull of the old scuff plate? Did you use a special tool to unclip the old scuff plates or would a flat screw driver work?

The plug is under the scuff plate, it has a cap in the plug that you need to remove and the new scuff plate will plug in.  I used my fingers to pop it off.  You could use a trim tool but fingers work just fine.

wow looks nice, was that easy to do? Saw on a previous forum somewhere how to do it . what parts do you need?

It takes 5 minutes, pop out the old ones and plug in the new ones and snap them back in.

  4. The Chevy HD redesign is the primary reason I ordered a 22 F350.  I have had 8 or 9 new Chevy trucks until now.  Even with the obsolete technology and crappy interior I would have bought another one if it wasn't so darn fugly.  I had a '15 1500, '17 1500, '19 3500 and the interiors and features were identical - except the '19 LTZ still ran halogen headlights and no LEDs anywhere.  Chevy didn't update anything in those trucks in over 5 years.  No blind spot monitoring, no adaptive cruise, no DEF gauge, small screen, no TPMS for the truck in the '19.  GM is focused on EVs and the brand loyalists that will buy a GM product because they always buy a GM product.  Look at Cadillac as a prime example.  Cadillac SUVs are just overpriced versions of the Suburban or Traverse.  They offer nothing interesting, premium, or different other than the grill emblem and sticker price.

Can anyone tell me where my truck is?

    Here is what I know

Status today from the ultra helpful cyberdman - In Transit -  Received    Ramp 6P, Kansas City Mc, MO    Dec-31-2021, 08:07 CT

I am thinking that means it was received in KC on New Years Eve

Sticker says Ramp one -CA6P - which correlates to Jack Cooper and palsapp.com

i go there plug in my VIN and get this: Origin - Kentucky Plant, Destination - BLANK, Destination Name - null, Freight bill # - 0691775808, VIN - my number and Status Pending.

Does that mean it's in the rail yard since 12/31 and waiting for transport to Iowa?

    Thanks

Where in Iowa is it headed?  Mine is in the Voltz yard in Kansas City and the railcar says it was unloaded on 1/4.  Palsapp has a similar status for mine.  My dealer is in Ames, IA and my ETA is 1/15

are all manufacturers this slow?  I am about to throw in the towel and order another Sierra.

I am a chevy guy and I have ordered my last couple of trucks directly from the owner of the dealership.  Back in April I was due for a new truck, he wants my trucks before they get 50k miles on them.  I wasn't sold on the fugly design but I figured I'd go ahead and order a truck.  He had zero allocations, none, zip, for 3500s.  He has commercial clients that place 35 fleet orders a year and GM gave them 15.  I talked with 3 other dealers for either a GMC or a Chevy 3500 and was laughed at every time.  You simply cannot get a GM HD truck right now and if you do, they have stripped a ton of features off of them.

  7. If it is shipped going west to Kansas City it goes via Norfolk Southern.

    Norfolk Southern Traincar Tracking:
    Phone: 1 800 635 5768
    Option 2 for intermodal
    Option 2 for tracing
Enter the alpha (letters) portion of the traincar first and press #
Enter the numeric portion of the traincar second and press #
    Press 1 to confirm

The robo-voice will give you a status.

Now, I had a heck of a time figuring out a couple of my statuses - especially the last one. The last status kept saying Holts, Missouri. Problem is there is no Holts, MO. Well, I finally figured it out. The Kansas City Auto Distribution Center is also called the Voltz yard for Norfolk Southern. Maybe this will help somebody else trying to decipher the robo voice status.

Is it possible to show shipped but still be on a chip hold? Received shipping notification 12/9 but no update since.

Cyberdman pulled my tracking info this morning.  My truck was shipped 12/30 and is currently west of st louis on a traincar.  The status also says on hold at plant microchip hold with all the railcar and ramp info.  There are a few trucks with this strange status. Have your dealer get the status off the VVR and see if you have a railcar.

  9. I called Norfolk Southern's automated tracking number with the railcar info and I received this status: Departed on flatcar Albers, IL scanner on 1/3 at 3:24am.  It appears that it is moving so I don't know what is going on with the 'chip hold' status.  Hopefully it left KTP with all its parts and pieces.

    Thanks Cyberdman

I'm guessing we have brought back about 5,000 trucks this week.  They have been repaired and inspected and sent out the gate to be shipped.  Not really sure which chip modules have come back.  As of last night the repairmen were installing 5 different chips.  I know one had to do with the radio and another was the knock sensor on diesel trucks.  We have been running 24/7 since Sunday morning.

My truck has been on chip hold since 12/11 and yesterday the tracker shows it is built.  Thanks to everybody busting their hump to work through this backlog - I really appreciate it and I am sure everybody stuck on chip hold appreciates progress during the plant shutdown.

  11. I have been on chip hold since 12/11.  The Ford tracker just worked for me and the status changed to built and a date of 12/28 and ETA changed from 12/31 to 1/16.  I may have to call my dealer for a new VVR.  Obviously something is getting done at KTP with a bunch of trucks changing status.  Jim58 did your status change yet?

Jim58, what did you order? I'm on chip hold since 12/8 as well. Mine's a lowly XL STX 6.7 CCLB 4x4 with sync 3 and no common commodity items with known delays. Some people seem to have only been held up in "chip hold" for a few days and have already shipped. Mine - still sitting.

I'm also on chip hold since 12/10.  F350 Platinum 6.7 FX4 no AS, no 5th wheel, no bed liner.  Some trucks are on hold for a few days, some not at all, and some (like ours) will be on hold for 6 weeks and counting. I cannot understand the randomness to how trucks are scheduled and built. I do process improvement and lean manufacturing techniques for a living, I'd love to know more about how and why this production scheduling system works like it does.  It feels like a ton of waste with all the WIP and excess transportation not to mention capital tied up.  There has to be more pieces to the puzzle.

UPDATE!  We have ben running close to normal production since Sunday!

Can you give any insight into the current chip hold?  Those of us with trucks on chip hold would appreciate any insight you can give as we hear of new trucks being built and shipped daily but nothing about our trucks stuck on chip hold since the end of November and early December.
