Retail orders verified via the COVP (Customer Order Verification Program) qualify for incremental allocation and priority scheduling. Dealers must submit/upload a copy of the signed Buyer's Order and the customer's Driver's License.

Ice, I likewise really appreciate the service you and the other moderators provide here on a volunteer basis.  And I can imagine the frustration that arises from repetitive and possibly dumb questions. And if this is one of either, please accept my apology in advance.

You have used the term “incremental allocation” on a number of instances.  I think I know what it means, but I would appreciate confirmation.  When I requested my dealer delete unavailable options from my build, I was told “No allocations this week for super duties so won’t get scheduled this week.”  I didn’t respond.  As I understand what I have learned here, the fact that they have no allocations is immaterial as my retail order doesn’t go against that allowance and Ford schedulers can and do drop in customer orders as available components and priorities allow.   Am I close to correct?

  2. At 0500 Eastern, FoxNews is broadcasting the live news conference from KY on the deadly tornadoes that have resulted in at least 50 deaths. There was widespread damage and destruction in western Kentucky.  They’re anticipating that the deadly systems will be falling apart by 10 am.

Excuse me but about 35 minutes ago you made a post in the Vehicle Locator by Ford Employees forum asking for status information on your order. Cyberdman replied 10 minutes later telling you that your order was Unscheduled/Clean. Now you want to call Ford to see what information they'll give you? Cyberdman's information is the most reliable information you can get so please don't waste his time if you're going to start second-quessing his information by calling Ford for confirmation!

Ice, this was posted before I submitted the post in the tracking site. If I have the permissions, I will delete the above post.

That is a lot of trucks and not much time to build them before the next MY comes out.
So at approximately 7.5mos worth of builds (w/o delays) in queue, I wonder what the cut-off will be and when they tell folks to re-order '23s?

I would think Ford see's that they have enough orders to extend to August 2023.

Again the question is how many of those ~250,000 units are dealer stock, and how many are customer orders?

Here and elsewhere I have seen that there are still orders from late spring that haven’t been scheduled, so I shouldn’t be discouraged that mine from mid-October is still in limbo. I suppose I have done everything I can do by removing the “nice-to-have” problematic options in order to help increase my odds for getting picked in the scheduling lottery.

The WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system will only display prices for the current" Price Level" in effect when the vehicle specification and prices are displayed in the "Preview" function. WBDO will display X Plan prices, but the Dealer has to select the Plan Pricing option in the preview display. Your order is automatically price protected to the original order date. The Dealer Invoice will be generated at the Price Level in effect at the time the invoice is created. The Dealer then files a claim for the price protection adjustment.

Thanks AGAIN ice for responding.  I was less concerned about the X-plan than the overall price change.  I’m so glad I didn’t query my salesman for a non-problem.  Now let’s see when the truck gets scheduled. Fingers, eyes, arms, and legs are all crossed ??

  6. I placed my order for an F-350 Platinum 6.7 CC SB SRW with Active Steering and the 5th Wheel Prep (among other options but no spray in bedliner) and received my confirmation from Ford on 18 October.  Yesterday my salesman modified my order by removing the AS and 5th Wheel and sent me a revised Preview Order to DocuSign, which I did.  The document has the same  Sales Code (F27054) and Order Code (M20M), but a different Price Level (245, was 240) and a higher price.  It’s also still Priority 10 (but I have requested that they have the Zone Manager or Regional Scheduler to intervene to lower it further).  Additionally, the X-plan pricing that was on my original document wasn’t listed on this one.

From what I have learned here, I should have received a price protection against the increase that went into effect yesterday.

What do those in the know recommend I do?  Should I wait until I eventually get the truck built and delivered to the dealer and raise the price issue, or should I get it corrected now?  Is there a reference I can quote to my salesman and/or his manager if needed in case I get any pushback?

I recognize that they are currently in the driver’s seat (pun intended) and don’t want to alienate them.  I welcome all feedback.

     Thanks!

i currently have a 2017 with the 3.55, so that’s what I ordered for this go round. Maybe I made a mistake? My normal towing is one of two things:

    1. Polaris Ranger on a trailer with an estimate of about 2k total. Commonly would have 500ish pounds of payload in the bed.

    2. Towing a Kubota on a two axle trailer, at approx 6500 total pounds. Would likely have 500ish pounds in the bed too.

These towing scenarios are highway towing, the entire way.

IMHO, you didn’t make a mistake. You will have absolutely no problem pulling your loads.

Could you have been fine with the 3.31? I’d say yes. Would you get slightly better fuel economy? Probably yes again.

However, there are many more folks out there that won’t look at all the numbers and won’t recognize that the final ratios are comparable or better than those with a 3.55 and a six speed.

Depending on where your truck is in the process, it’s up to you if you want to change it.

  8. Good morning,

I am registered with a number of different forums, and have grown accustomed to the features that many of them share.  This forum’s software is unique in my experience, and I don’t know if what I am going to request is possible.  Or if I am just missing it in my user settings.

Might it be possible to have the user set it up so posts in the threads are sorted in reverse chronological order so that the newest post is at the top?  This is DEFINITELY not a show stopper, but is a nice feature that allows for a quick view of what was recently posted.  This is different from creating a content stream, rather it has the posts displayed in descending order.

Love the information that this forum provides.  Thanks to all the Admins and Moderators.

Adding an option to an unscheduled order does not require the Dealer to re-enter the order. They simply add the additional option. Your original order date stays the same but the WBDO displays the current date and Price Level Code for when the revised vehicle specifications were viewed and/or printed.

Ice, does the converse work the same way?

When I have my Dealer remove an option, the original order date and price remains as it was?

Since the COVP program is new as of this Summer, I think many of the salespeople are uninformed. ?

That I didn’t know.  He was also surprised (not sure if he believed me) when I informed him that the dealership could request a priority 01 or 02 from the Zone Manager or Regional Scheduler. I hope he takes action when he gets to work tomorrow.

So I took @ice-capades advice and did some research on a different thread. Sorry for the redundant question. So what I found was cvop doesn't show up in the dealers system like normal allocations. So in other words it sounds like even though the dealer wasn't given an allocation this week in their system, ford can still schedule a cvop order. Im hoping i.made sense of this correctly but it sounds like my dealer doesn't understand the cvop order details.

I got an email from my salesman that said exactly that. He said they have no allocation for this Thursday, so my order won’t be getting scheduled. I hopefully will be able to show him wrong. Although he IS a nice guy.

I have the x4s on my truck and am really happy with it so far. Fit and finish look great. You can roll it up in a matter of seconds.  It doesn't roll up as tight as normal in 30 degree weather, but it still rolls up just fine. Even though it works fine in the cold weather, I would still try to not roll it up on a regular basis in efforts to prolong the life of it.   I have only had mine a couple months, so I cant comment on longevity.

I have had my X2 on my F150 for over four and a half years. Other than the felt underneath coming down on one side (fixed with marine sealant), it has been great!

@ice-capades I’m going to be the rookie. Stock is basic of the basic “go on the lot” vehicle…. Retail: is someone went and ordered a truck “custom”?

the way I see it… I only have a spray in bed liner holding my truck up from being selected for production

    Mattyb,

If that’s the only thing from the list above that you have, then I would say yes.  When did you order, and what is the dealer-assigned priority?

Since you're new I'll try to answer your questions and make a few suggestions.

As stated in the scheduling notes, Ford is prioritizing these options exclusively for retail orders in order to expedite scheduling of retail orders with these options. I do not recommend deleting the 5th Wheel Prep (53W) package, if you have a definite towing need, due to the superior factory installation. If you can afford to wait, don't go rushing to delete options based on what you see posted by others.

Order tracking is available at the Vehicle Locator by Ford Employees forum, but you must have made at least 15 posts to the BOF site to qualify. In addition, you must read the rules carefully as they are strictly enforced. Tracking does include confirmation on order specification changes.

Your Dealer can provide you with confirmation of your vehicle specifications and any changes made via the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system.

Hope this helps! Spend some time exploring the information and resources on the BOF site. It'll help answer a lot of questions you might have.

    Ice-capades,

Thanks for your response (and I presume the approving my posts above). And especially thanks for the information you provide on a weekly basis with your production notes and scheduling information.  It was your information that I saw on another site that drew me here, and I’ve gotten a whole new resource for information.  While I joined yesterday, I have been lurking for a bit longer.

I’m not tied to the 5th Wheel Prep as I currently don’t have nor anticipate getting a Fiver, but rather I added it as a possible selling point if I ever move on to another truck.  I know I am not by far one of the folks with the longest unscheduled build, but I would really like to get my truck before the weather starts warming back up. That’s why I have deleted the Adaptive Steering and am (tomorrow) deleting the 53W from my build to improve the possibility of getting a build week (then a build day) sooner rather than later.

     Thanks again,

    Joe

My trailer is just under 10k, so I figured I could afford to try for a few more mpg’s.

My thoughts exactly. I ordered the 3.31 locking also with the 6.7 on a Platinum CC SB.  My camper is a Cougar 26RBS which is well under 10,000 lbs also.  I hope we both didn’t make a mistake.
