The EV-1 was a phenomenal car with the Nickel Metal Hydrive batteries. 130 miles is a pretty solid distance for most of us in one day. An 80% charge in 40 minutes is also an extremely reasonable time. GM did that much 4 years ago. Battery technology hasn't improved much so repeating that performance isn't an impossibility. So, if you could produce a $25,000 car with that capability that could be charged off a slightly modified house circuit. The EV-1 got cancelled because the government complained it didn't meet crash safety standards. Way to go George. Discontinue the most fuel efficient vehicle in the United States because of government regulatory bs. Give GM some financial tax incentive to get this car back on the road and drop the regulations.
