  1. CONGRATS! I am happy for you. Did you add any options or is it a basic Lariat? SRW or DRW? I'm curious as I ordered a 350 DRW Lariat on 2/28. A week later I went back to the dealer and we deleted every option except heated seats and upfitter switches hoping to speed up the build. I would be really happy to get a truck as quick as you are getting yours. My thought process was that I want to help make it as easy as possible for Ford to build my truck. I was even concerned that the Lariat trim might be a hold up but apparently not.
  2. Here is a link someone gave me over at FTE. https://nicholsmanufacturingandweldingservices.com I think they can make tpms and cameras work on nearly any truck. If you get the Ford part numbers, you can get most of those parts cheaper at tasca ford parts. I think the 7/12 pin connector is $86 instead of $120. You might need to do a little research, but you can get the price down with a bit of digging. As far as the computers go, I haven't heard of anyone having to modify any settings to make tpms work but I could be wrong. I think it just shows up when you plug in the harness, then turn it on in the menu. Maybe some others will chime in with some help.
  3. I suppose so. It is my understanding that you just add the kit and plug it in. I could be wrong. The only video on youtube shows a guy adding it with a camera. I do know there were a couple of kits available on the build site when I was looking into it. I suppose the best thing to do is search on here or start a thread if you can't find one. I have a wireless setup that works good, so it is not s necessity to get it installed. I would like to get it on the dash though. I'd like get rid of some of the boxes and wires sitting in the cab with me and the wife and taking up USB plugs.
  4. CONGRATS! I am happy for you. I know some are getting them and many have dropped them. It is hard to say which way will get you a truck quicker now. I just had my dealer order my hitch today and it is on back order for a couple of weeks right now. Hard to say but I am pretty sure it will be here before the truck. We were looking at ordering the trailer tpms and so I went to the build site to see if I could get the part number there. Well, all that stuff is no longer on the site as most probably already know. The customer placed tpms, the customer placed camera, a whole bunch of add ons are no longer on the site. I then looked at a couple of dealer sites and most said out of stock. It looks like every nut and bolt is possibly going to be a roll of the dice. I am ready for a long bumpy ride. Anything quick and easy is just gravy! Kind of along the same lines...my wife told me the other day that, I think it is 5/8" bolts or nuts? Fastenal can't get for months as they are all on some ship stuck somewhere that can't be unloaded. We are pretty much totally dependent on other countries now so we can assemble things here. Enjoy your new truck! Maybe you can take an extra ride for everyone waiting and smile for us since you have done your time. LOL
  5. Well, you'd think they would just make it a package and upcharge for the difference in price for stuff that works. Wired camera on the trailer is not my cup of tea either. I was going to do it until I figured out there was no way to record the info in sync. You have to be real careful about what camera setup you buy as well. Most only record one channel at a time. I am pretty sure I am going with Haloview mostly for the quality and the recording. Not all of theirs record but a couple can record 4 channels. But only if you have all 4 displayed on the screen. Not great, but it would give you a lot of evidence in an accident. Of course it is possible that you wouldn't want a lot of evidence. LOL I also want side view cameras on the trailer and I want them and the backup camera to be on at all times. Another thing is that you can take your aftermarket monitor into your camper when you are parked to use as security cameras while your are unhooked. You could go with a MDVR and setup, but that is double the price and you can't take it out to the camper. And all of them are wired too. You can get them with wifi and cell so you can look at them and get alerts by phone if you have coverage. The problem is...we have way too many choices compared to even 5 years ago. And we are getting used to all the nice stuff. Once my truck is here, I'll begin the process of outfitting it for it's life as a tow vehicle. I am pretty excited as this is not only my first new Ford truck, it is also my first big block truck. I've had big block boats, but never a truck. Whooopie!
  6. SO....here is the rest of the story! I have finally gotten to the bottom and here is what I have found. Ford did not refuse to accept the order. The dealership owner would not let the person ( not sure of his title) place the order with the hitch prep package. The sales person talked to the owner and then let me know what the situation was. The owner did say I could order the truck with the hitch prep if I insisted. That is about all that was discussed. I told the sales person that I need a truck as soon as I can get one so I am happy to leave off any extras that I can put on after the truck is delivered. The wife likes heated and cooled seats so that is obviously something that you need to get from the factory. I hope things like that aren't a hold up but these days, it can be any single part on the truck. I am just going to make this as easy as I can for Ford to build me a truck that will allow me to fully enjoy the toyhauler trailer I have sitting in the barn. As far as the connector in the bed goes, I know I can get it in the tpms kit. I'll just place it in the bed instead of on the bumper, then do what I need to do to get it to work. I have abandoned the cameras on the trailer into the sync 4 idea as I want to be able to record all the cameras in case of an accident. That is not possible with sync 4 as far as I can tell. Maybe in the future as Ford expands this, that will be something they consider. Also, making wireless cameras on the trailer part of the package would be a lot better than wired as well. I would volunteer to help them develop a wireless trailer camera kit with DVR for sure. I want to thank everyone for your help and all the information you'all have provided. I wanted help and I got lots of it! I also want to thank my dealership for doing their best to get me a truck as quick as they can. Our communication was a little off for a few days, but nothing we couldn't work out. I haven't been this happy with a dealership in a very long time. Now all I have to do is wait like thousands of other Ford folks! LOL
  7. Here is an update to the situation. Yesterday I asked my dealer to add the hitch prep to my order. They tried a couple of times and they could not add the package. I was told the owner would talk to the Ford rep today and ask why. I want to thank them for making a sincere effort to help me out. At this point, I am happy to leave it off and add everything I want later just to speed up the delivery. There is a thread on here talking about how dealer orders are now being regulated at the regional level. I think customer orders are as well now too. I don't care to know the details about how Ford is dealing with the mess as I know they are making every effort to fill all orders as fast as they can. I ordered the things I can't install after I take delivery. I'll take care of the rest once I have a truck in my possession. I know little things around my farm are taking up to 4 times as long because I can't get parts or people to do the work I can't. Welcome to the new normal. Thanks to the folks in the forum, I am now well educated about my options and where to get the parts I need to build my truck like I want. Thanks everyone for your help and input!
  8. This is pretty much exactly how I want to outfit my truck. Since I am towing a heavy 5th wheel toyhauler, I'd like this stuff in the bed with the other cable. I would also like these to take some of the junk out of the cab. Right now we have trailer tpms, wireless rear view trailer camera and the RV gps all hanging out with us in the cab. I am also a ham radio operator and sometimes we are going to work a rally race so I'll have a ham radio in there too. SO.....if I can put half of this stuff or more in the dash and the sync.....well, let's just say I'll be a happy camper. As far as accept it or schedule it, that was from my dealer so I suppose he meant accept the order. I did leave off nearly all options except what I had to have for max tow rating with 7.3 and heated seats for the better half. SInce I am now towing with a 2500HD, I can only pull the camper empty with my dune buggy. Anything else and the truck is overloaded. So you can see, now I need a real truck so I had no choice but to buy a Ford to get the work done. I also would like this truck before next summer(2023) if possible so I thought I'd do my part to help Ford help me. I would like the hitch prep, the cameras and tpms but what is the trade off for time against a dealer or self install? I am kind of stuck about what to do. I have had my wife's Lincoln serviced at 3 other Ford dealers around me and this has been the only one to actually give me good honest service. I really wanted to stay close to home if possible. I guess if this is the toughest decision I have to make, life ain't too bad is it?
  9. Good Morning Everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know of a recent development that I have experienced. A week ago Monday I went to the dealer and ordered a new super duty. After a couple of days I had not heard from either Ford or the dealer so I called the dealer. They were very apologetic as the sales person was supposed to call me and had been out for 2 days because of the ice. I was told that Ford would not accept my order until I dropped the Gooseneck package. After doing some research about what my options were I went ahead and deleted it and got the order placed. I checked my paperwork and the order priority is 13 so that shouldn't be a reason why. Just wanted to let others know things are changing quickly. My first thought is that this is a way for Ford to try and clean up the backlog. I have heard the stock orders haven't been allowed to order several options for this very reason. There are a couple of things about this that bother me. First, I can't get the 12 pin connector for trailer tpms and camera without considerable effort and extra expense. I am still searching for answers but I have yet to find the Ford part to do this as the factory install does. I pull a 5th wheel toy hauler so it would be nice to be able to use the dash and sync instead of a pile of other monitors stacked around the cab. I am looking forward to hearing everyone's ideas. I am glad to be part of the forum.
