Can someone tell me if the PHEV has a 12Volt battery as well as the High Voltage batteries?

Also is there any documentation to confirm the advice I've read, to only charge the battery to 80-90%

I believe the buffer is higher on the PHEV. I charge my Mach E to 85% but the Escape PHEV to 100% as needed. Ford suggests not charging the Mach E above 90% on a routine basis to preserve battery life, but I have seen nothing similar for the PHEV.

Does anyone else's radio stay on after the car is turned off and the door is opened?  Mine continues to play for a minute or so.  The dealer claims this is normal, but I've never seen another car function that way, so I'm skeptical of that answer.

    Thanks for the help!

My radio stays on briefly after turning off the car and opening the door as well, both in my Escape PHEV and Mache E. Also, the HUD stays up until the door is opened in my Escape.

  3.      We have had our Vapor Blue PHEV with Premium package  since March and are happy with it. We also have a Mach E, so we already had an EVSE in place(ChargePoint). Interestingly there is more room in the cargo area in my Mach E than in the Escape, so it is a bit smaller than expected but we wanted to down size from our Hyundai Santa Fe. The only quirk I have noticed is the occasional loud Fan/Compressor when the car first comes on. It's only really noticeable from the outside and the dealer indicates it is normal.

I like some things about the interface better than on the Mach E and some things less. I find it comfortable but haven't done a long trip yet. We have not used much gas since we brought it home and typically charge as often as needed to keep the battery at "100%". I had PPF on the front done and ceramic coating on the entire car since it will be kept outside. (No room in the garage for 2 cars).

Power wise it seems better than expected both on electric and gas. The pop-up screen is a nice addition.

No, it only depends on what you allow the dealer to get away with.   Even if the dealer offers MSRP, you have them write down the current MSRP and that’s your price and it shouldn’t change.  It doesn’t matter what Ford does with MSRP after that because the dealer ends up paying the same price that was in effect at order time.  How that works is strictly between the dealer and Ford.

What happens is people just assume they’ll get MSRP without clarifying it or getting it in writing and then the dealer either slaps on ADMs along with the price increase or they just say we don’t know what the original MSRP was (which is true that Ford doesn’t provide it only the current pricing) but that’s exactly why you need to get it in writing.  Boom here’s your price.  No arguments, no waiting for months to get a refund.  Doesn’t matter how long it takes.  You pay the price you agreed on period.

Of course it depends upon the dealer. I'm just relaying my experience. You'll notice I said it MAY depend upon your circumstance and dealer. I did not have anything in writing (signed) only the printed order form, The dealer honored it both times because they are a reputable dealer. Do they still try to sell add ons? Of course, but they honored Price Protection and took the X-Plan I got by joining the Mustang Club of America.

That is an internal Ford/Dealer process. I pay the dealer what we agreed at time of order and he submits a claim to Ford for the difference between the price code at time of order and billing.

Personally, I don't care how the internal process works, as I'm only interested in the amount we agreed upon at time of order. I'll suggest, if the dealer states they don't know about price protection, they are lying.

Same way they have for decades.  Not your circus not your monkeys.

You guys need to stop thinking you’re buying from Ford and start documenting and holding the dealer accountable for pricing.  What the dealer pays is irrelevant to what you pay.

It may depend upon your circumstances and the dealer. When I bought my Mach E(I paid cash-no trade-in), the price protection difference was refunded to me by the dealer at a later date when they received it from Ford. 8 months later when I picked up my Escape PHEV I had a trade in and they incorporated the difference right then and there and I used 36 month 0% financing for the balance.

I just had to talk to the F&I guy and showed them the Ford offer from "Ford Authority" and they looked it up. 36 MO, 0%

The extended warr, they tried to offer me that at 5500.. I told them I would get my own with gap insurance and they then offered it to me for 2700 and gave me a 500 credit to make it 2200. Better than I had found otherwise so I was able to take that as well, and added it to the financing so it's 0% as well.

You just have to know your numbers so you know what you can bargain for.

This website will have all the Ford MOCO info regarding what offerings Ford and Ford credit are offering.

    https://fordauthority.com/category/ford/escape/

Was that cheaper than what's available online from Granger, Zeigler or some of the other dealers? They often sell the warranty for $50 over cost.

Funny thing..My dealer sent me an email out of the blue asking if I had sent an inquiry about my order. I wonder if my contacting the customer service via chat, triggered that..  Maybe when we were chatting the agent on the chat decided to send the dealer a note to contact the party that placed the order...

    Hmmm..

    On another note,

Is anyone planning on installing things like Paint Protection Film, or Windshield film or some other form of finish protection?

I am thinking that I drive enough on snow/winter roads that I'm going to want some chip protection against gravel and other road schmutz.  I currently have been replacing my windshield every two seasons. With all the dependence on the camera's and other sensors in the new cars, I'm thinking it makes sense to protect the front from all this. I've checked out XPel for paint protection and EXOshield for the windshield. They are not cheap but neither are replacement windshields and paint jobs.

I had PPF on the front and ceramic coating installed on the entire car. I did the same on my Mustang Mach E and was not going to on this car. But since it is our travel car and will be stored outside I decided to. I had XPEL installed on both

I went to see my truck today. It actually arrived Friday night -  4 months to the day when i placed my order.

Came pretty from the plant Left the plant 4/22 and arrived in NJ 4/28

It came off the train the evening of 4/27 and went right on a truck to the dealer.

Dealer ship was closed so i just have outside pics of Vapor blue.

It looks nothing like the pre-production models shows, and nothing like the color on the ford website.

My dealer also had pant samples back in December, and it looks nothing like those either.

It looks just like the Mustang Vapor Blue.

I hope to pick up Thursday or Saturday.

The lease rates are through the roof, the interest rate is 9% on the money,

Ford is crying no one is leasing, but they jacked up the leasing price.

I am going to have to purchase and not lease First time since 2005

Mine (PHEV)is also Vapor blue and, depending on the light, looks grey or blue/grey. I love the color. I had PPF installed on the front and ceramic coating on the rest since it will be outside most of the time. (I keep my Mach E in the garage.) I usually pay cash, but opted for 36 month 0% financing and will see how the market goes. I installed Thinkware cameras, front and rear, on my Mach E, but am just going to install the FITCAMX front camera integrated with the mirror on this one. I think everyone will love this car!

How do you like it? I don't like the touch screen climate controls but at least they forced it to always displayed. Mine is being shipped right now.

I like it very much. I have a 2022 Mach E, as well, so I am somewhat used to the similar interface. I like the physical button for the camera and the heads-up display. No phone as a key though and no ability to start the car without the fob like in the Mach E. Ride is good, acceleration acceptable and it is much quieter than our Hyundai Santa Fe.

Ordered a PHEV with vista roof on 11/30/22 and so far have only heard that my order is in progress, but no VIN or date. My dealer said the plant that makes them is striking, but uh, that just seems to be an excuse for why it’s taking so long.

After my Escape was built and on route to the dealer the status went back to order confirmed. So take that info with a grain of salt.

I ordered in September (PHEV with Vista roof and Premium package) and picked it up last Friday.

I received an email last week that my vehicle is scheduled for production the week of May 29, 2023.  However, when I track the status all I see is that my order has been confirmed.  Am I missing something, or will it be updated the closer it gets.  I have seen others that have checkmarks on each circle.

The hand's free is included in the PHEV Premium package in the order guide.

When I checked our window sticker, it isn't included as a deletion and rebate in the options section, so can only assume that it will be installed, per the order guide.

My 2023 Escape PHEV with the Premium package does NOT have a hands-free lift gate. That capability was removed from the Escape as it was from the Mach E.

  13. Picked up my Escape PHEV  with the Premium Packagea couple of days ago and am, so far, it has exceeded my expectations. I wish it had PAAK like my Mustang Mach E but it's not a big deal. Definitely worth the 7 month wait. I traded in a Hyundai Santa Fe Limited Ultimate and was a little concerned about the difference in power and  acceleration but it's fine in that regard. Interior is nice, some cheap plastic, but not too bad. Seats are comfortable for my wife and I.Ride is ok, it's an SUV after all. Less harsh than my Santa Fe.
