  1. moniker-hellcat...do you actually have a Confederate Hellcat? Just curious
  2. Any ideas as to who might be building these units? You can find several articles on the internet that clearly state the Transit will be exported from Turkey until 2009, the year it will start being produced in the U.S. supposedly. I'd love to see both of these make their way here. I only hope that they bring some of the Transit drivetrains over here as well, especially some diesel options.
  3. LAP will be getting a new product, not the Edge or anything else currently being built in the U.S.
  4. I think many people, if smart, are preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. I know I got rid of my car payments, etc... If they can offer me some type of security about my future, I will purchase a new vehicle in the next couple of years.
  5. I would advise you to keep a tube of lube with you at all times...it's coming.
  6. Let me see...they sold Aston Martin, put up nearly every piece of property for collateral, are making some of their best vehicles in Mexico and Canada, are going to stop putting diesels in vans, which will cause ambulances to look elsewhere for a unit, this company is completely ignorant. The business decisions they keep making are not one bit sensible, therefore anything is possible. They have over $43 billion in cash, don't be surprised if they spend it all by December. LOL This company is being run into the ground or bankruptcy, whichever comes first, by dumb and dumber.
  7. We were told that a 2 week window has opened up here at Louisville to sign up, beginning this week.
  8. A supervisor's BMW got shot up with a .45 last week. They supposedly shot @ 8 shots all the way around the vehicle. This happened at LAP, Louisville, and it was parked in the foreign designated lot. I'm sorry, but if he was driving a Ford product, this would've never happened.
  9. Go OLD SCHOOL and destroy their vehicle. If they get another one, destroy it again. There are plenty of 15 year olds that will vandalize a car for a few bucks.
  10. We've had quite a few quit at Louisville as well. Many don't return after break. Can't handle the heat, get the hell out. They're making about $17 an hour here I believe.
  11. LAP will be on 100 hours of production later this year, after a line speed reduction. Not 4-10(s) as in a COA, but 50 hour shifts.
  12. Remind me of something Ford has done in the past that makes sense? 8.5 now, 9 in future, 10 hours after shutdown? Either they're about to stockpile units or another unit is on its way to LAP. Anyone know?
  13. Strong rumors going around LAP that a new product is coming. No announcement will be made until all the buyouts are gone. Why make an announcement that may convince people that are leaving to change their minds and stay? They want as many gone before any announcement is made. But I believe the writing is on the wall for LAP. It will close in 08-09 and some will have chance to transfer to KTP and other plants to fill the spots that current TPTers are holding. KTP has the room for more units, it only makes sense to utilize their size and capacity.
  14. The only plant that I've heard that had any balls regarding the COA is Wayne Assembly. From what I hear, they told the international and Ford to stick the COA up their asses, they're not voting on it. Anyone from Wayne confirm this rumor. I was kinda hoping that the votes would hold off and let this take place during negotiations/contract time. What a joke! Sorry to hear of your misfortune MTP. COA=End of what you once knew. It's like giving away 50 years worth of fighting in one day.
  15. Can you believe we're paying a guy $100,000,000 to come up with lame ass ideas like this? What a freaking joke! I can't help but laugh, as I'm sure the japanese are laughing as well. It will definitely boost sales, probably about 800 units this year. LMAO And we wonder why this company is heading towards bankruptcy?
  16. If he had his way, Kentucky would be a RIGHT TO WORK state, that's why. He's a gucking feek!
  17. I was told that WAYNE ASSEMBLY basically said, "stick the COA up your ass, we're not doing one." Can anyone confirm if this is true? I wish every plant would've followed suit if that was the case. They're attempting to scare everyone into believing that you must go to a COA to remain open. I call BULLSHIT! If Kansas City and Local 600 were the only two that caved in to the COA, would they be the only two open? I think not! Make them wait until contract time before we go giving everything to them.
  18. I'll still be shocked if more than 25,000 actually leave. They say this crap to attempt to boost investors' morale as well as the stock price.
  19. The 38,000 number is for the media. How many will actually leave? At LAP, we had over 1700 sign up, only 600-800 expected to actually leave.
  20. We only expect 40-50% of them to actually leave. How many have signed up at your facility? We have about 3000 union employees right now.
  21. Over 1000 have signed up at LAP, and more to come on Monday.
  22. Over 1000 at LAP....more to come on Monday. Only see 5-600 actually leaving.
  23. At LAP, we've had over 30% already sign up, that's over 1000 people. We have until Monday, and you know some are waiting until the last minute. Of these 1000+, I only see 500-600 actually leaving. The rest are wasting everyone's time. Our line speed reduction is supposed to coincide with the buyouts...no one loses their job.
  24. The next generation Explorer is SUPPOSEDLY going to be on a unibody VOLVO platform...and be built in Chicago. At least that's what many engineers and salary at LAP are telling us. I would love to get the opportunity to move to Chicago, one of my favorite cities.
