  1. Two application choices (would need last 8 of VIN to get specific part #): DB5Z-8C607-A or DB5Z-8C607-B . Both are on national backorder due to "late engineering change". DB5Z-8C607-A estimated off backorder on 5/28/2014. There is no listed inventory of either number at the part distribution centers (PDC). There is listed stock of the DB5Z-8C607-A at 44 locations nationwide including one each at factory authorized distributors (FAD) in Sacramento and San Jose.

  2. Retail orders are price protected to the price level in effect on the date of order. Price protection is automatic and the only requirement is that the sales reporting name must match the order name exactly. The majority of rebates are now also locked in at the time of order. We only ask for a deposit on units which would be extremely hard to sell if the deal falls through.

  3. The software update for the Escape was issued overnight Thursday 12/13/2012 and should now be available to dealers (SAFETY RECALL 12S41 Supplement #2). The software update for the Fusion is expected the week of 12/17/2012. Affected vehicles under 12S41 do not include any post 11/26/2012 Escape or post 11/29/2012 Fusion. This could definately change as Ford has expanded vehicle coverage under several campaigns in the past.

  4. silvrsvt -- The current incentive protection plan (program #33838) expires 01/02/2013. I would think that a new program would be announced late December 2012 but nothing is certain (as evidenced by the reduction in the commercial upfit program). All dealers are now able to claim incentive protection and most incentives and discounted rates are protected. Unprotected programs include FDAF, employee pricing, non-cash programs (gas cards / SIRIUS promos / etc), ESP promos, early bird and discount packages.

  5. In the past, Ford has sold new hail-damaged units at their dealer-restricted auction locations. They sold new hail-damaged 2011 Explorers (unrepaired) and got more than we were retailing an undamaged unit for. Sometimes the units are repaired via paintless dent removal. Full disclosure is made in the auction program and also by the ring auctioneer. The windshields also clearly state that the unit was hail-damaged. In the "old" days, dealers were invoiced and considered the owner as soon as the unit was gate-released; currently, we are not considered the owner until the date of actual delivery. Also, I believe Ford was self-insured with regards to in-transit and storage vehicle damage.

  6. NLPRacing -- My family has a very small Ford dealership in SE South Dakota. I lived in the Twin Cities for a number of years including 4 in St Paul (Summit Ave/Chatsworth St for 2 years and then Grand Ave/Dale St for the next 2 years). Tousley is the largest Ford dealer in the Twin Cities region and is now an AutoNation store. The Vikings should simply concede this season and claim the Andrew Luck sweepstakes and rebuild around him (maybe he will turn out to be as good as Rodgers or Stafford). Don't get me started on the Twins or Timberwolves.

  7. Your dealer simply needs to know which X-Plan program you qualify under and receive proof of eligibility:

    (1) Partner Recognition: Employee/Member - the dealership must retain a copy of proof of employment or membership from the eligible company or organization. Any one of the following: a pay stub, company ID badge, healthcare card or W-2, print out from www.theworknumber.com or a valid member card (30-day membership requirement for EAA members). Household - driver's license as verification of the same household as the sponsor, plus proof of sponsor employment or membership as noted above.

Business - Proof of Business Ownership as noted below, plus proof of residence and sponsor employment or membership as noted above.

    (2) Friends & Neighbors - no proof of eligibility required. Business - Proof of Business Ownership as noted below.

Proof of Business Ownership Documents - Dealers are required to verify customer eligibility & retain a copy of at least ONE of the following acceptable proofs of eligibility in the sales jacket:

    Business License (not occupational license)

Copies of "DBA" or assumed name documentation

    Articles of Incorporation

    Business Incorporation Documents

    Sales Tax License

Commercial General Liability Insurance Policy/Public Liability Insurance Policy and/or Workman's Compensation Insurance Policy

State or Federal forms showing a Federal I.D. Number

Verifiable D&B Listing (linking owner name to business name)

FIN Code is only proof required for customers who have a FIN code

Individual state authorized business / corporate websites, e.g. Sunbiz in Florida

Note: Business Cards, letterhead, invoices and Business phone listings from Yellow Page Advertisement are NOT acceptable proof of commercial customer eligibility.

Note: Evidence of a listed individual's name in specific profession is NOT an acceptable proof of business.

If you are employed by an X-Plan partner you can generate your PIN at www.fordpartner.com .

  8. Okay, this may be a thread to ask this question I've been wanting to for the last few weeks but didn't want to start an allocated thread.

Can anybody direct me to where I can find a double-sided Ford Blue Oval flag for my home flag pole? I've scoured the net but to no avail. I can find one that says "Ford Racing" but I really just want the old Blue Oval on White in a 3X5.

    Thanks for any pointers.

    Gregg

The following company makes vertical single and double-sided Ford flags for dealerships and also makes custom horizontal flags. Since they have the Ford blue oval perhaps they can custom make a double-sided horizontal flag for your home use.

  9. Received some more info from Ford on the availability of the active grille shutters:

AGS is not a feature or free-standing option. Later this year, Active Grille Shutter will be standard across the board on Focus, however it must ramp-up to that level first. Currently, AGS is included in conjunction with the models, series, and/or features below:

    * All SE 4 door models

    * All Titanium 4 & 5 door models

    * All models with "Green State" Emissions

    * All models with the optional Winter Package (available SE, SEL, Titanium)

    * All models equipped with the optional Engine Block Heater
