  2. mears -- my earlier post was based on total MSRP of under $45,000; the final CARS program rules define MSRP as only the base price excluding any dealer accessories, optional equipment, taxes and destination charges. As such, more new vehicles will qualify for the CARS voucher. Ford's vehicle locator is currently on crack; I will try back later and post new results.

  3. mears -- Only one other White Sand than that listed earlier is shown in Mountain Home Idaho 83647 (Mountain Home Auto Ranch). Last nine of VIN are 9FA85471, MSRP is $44200 and phone # is 208-587-3326. Except those mentioned, there are no White Sand or Black meeting your specs which are eligible for the CARS program in the Denver, Phoenix, LA, San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Houston or KC regions. There are some White, Razor Red, Royal Red and Dark Blue Pearl (but very limited). Good Luck!

Edited to add: Info above is based on Ford's dealer locator system which is far from perfect. Dealers can choose not to list selected inventory and the system sometimes shows inventory on hand which has been reported sold months earlier.

  4. lost1 -- Private offers are just like the $750 coupon you received (generally targeted direct mail offers). Sometimes the private offer may require membership in a specific organization or trade group. You may have received (or qualify for) several private offers. Unfortunately, you can only use 1 such private offer per transaction. Fortunately, the private offer can be combined with incentives offered to the general public. Have your salesperson run a SMART VINCENT on your selected vehicle; it will list all eligible incentives (public and private) available on that vehicle in your region. You're lucky; as you state, most private offers are worthless on A/Z/D plans. X Plans, however, are a different animal.

  5. I'm lead to believe there are very few stand alone Pontiac dealers if any.

Those that don't have a second GM franchise more than likely have a different brand they sell as well.

It was originally reported that there were only 26 or 27 stand alone Pontiac dealerships. In later reports, GM officials stated that there are "about 35" Pontiac-only dealerships.

  6. February 26, 2009

    To: All Ford Dealers

Subject: EFC0200943DC Discontinuation of Ford Low Cab Forward (LCF)

Ford Motor Company will discontinue the Ford Low Cab Forward (LCF). Production for the Ford LCF will end May 29, 2009. Final orders need to be placed by the week of March 30, 2009 to be eligible for scheduling.

    Customer Support:

Any Ford Dealer properly equipped and trained is eligible to service Ford LCF models effective June 1, 2009. Service parts to maintain and repair LCF vehicles will continue to be available through Ford Customer Service Division.

  7. We just received this announcement from Mother Ford:

    Ford Dealer Television proudly presents

Exclusive Reveal of Taurus High Performance Series from the 101st Chicago Auto Show

An exclusive Broadcast bringing you the reveal of the 2010 Performance Series Taurus from the floor of the 101st Chicago Auto Show. Hear first hand what the press, customers and enthusiasts are saying about this segment changing vehicle.

  8. Thanks Kalu for your updates. We received our first 2009 F150 this morning; a 4x2 Regular Cab XLT with the 5.4. Three initial observations: (1) love the new tailgate, (2) like the look without the "suicide" access doors & (3) could they perhaps make the F150 badging on the front fenders just a little LARGER. Great job KCAP.

  9. Can anyone at Kansas City and Dearborn Truck provide an update on the status of the 2009 F-150 launch. Our first units have finally been scheduled (retail orders placed in June) with production weeks of 9/29/2008 and 10/6/2009. Have any units been released? According to vehicle locator, there are no 2009 F-150's in dealer inventory. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

  10. specing out some Ford Rangers for a municipality and my eyebrows shot to the ceiling...only two option as far as engines go...the 2.3 and the guzzler 4.0...do not understand the logic here....all municipalities are thinking green and FFV ( ie 3.0 ) is the only alternative to full hybrid drivetrain which we know only comes in the Escape....is this a Ranger death knoll?..........strange logic here.

Perhaps left coast dealers have different order guides; in the great midwest, we have not been able to order a flex-fuel (E85) 3.0L (option code 99V) since the 2003 model year in the Ranger. The standard 3.0L (option code 99U) is not flex-fuel capable. The following confirms my understanding of Ford's flex-fuel offerings: http://www.e85fuel.com/information/ford_ffvs2009.pdf

Again, CA dealers may have had the option to order the 99V 3.0L for a longer period of time. I am surrounded by ethanol plants and get drilled about this daily.

  11. I ran a Ford "Smart VINCENT" summary on a 2008 Taurus X using zip code 78701 and it shows that program 11504 Retail Customer Cash ($3,000.00) and 11506 Retail Bonus Customer Cash ($1,000.00) to be compatible and neither require Ford Credit financing. You should get both rebates regardless of how you finance the deal.

The Southwest region has great incentives on the Taurus X. My Twin Cities region has only $2,000.00 Retail Customer Cash (#11504) and $500.00 Ford Credit Bonus Customer Cash (#11506). The Ford Credit cash requires that you finance with Ford Credit.

  12. KTPgal89 -- Thank you for the updated information. Unfortunately, we usually only stock Crew Cabs and Regular Cabs; the demand for Super Duty SuperCabs has dropped significantly in our trade area (the shortbox Super Duty SuperCab is still my personal favorite). Does KTP operate a "C" shift?

  13. Does anyone on this forum have access to the unscheduled order bank at KTP? I am employed at a small family-owned dealership and we can't get any Super Duties scheduled. Discussions with other small dealers in my region indicate that no one is getting Super Duties scheduled. Thanks in advance for any assistance. :sos:
