  1. If you go to yahoo.com and do a search for F. You'll get a link to Ford Motor Company Earnings Conference Call it will have a link shortly before the 9:30 AM conference call that you can listen to it live from home. If there is an easier way someone post it.
  2. If what your saying is true then ford is planning on putting the Panther to fleet only orders, which will mean the end on the vehicle line altogether and a lot of pissed off loyal/fanatic customers. We couldn't produce enough on 1 shift to support sales. We've talked on the plant floor for some time now about a line speed reduction to bring us in line with demand but losing an entire shift would signal and end to the civilian CV/GM. On a side note CNN will run a story on AC360 monday night (THE FUCKS) about how unsafe your civilian CV/CM/TC is because Ford didn't put shields on the civilian vehicle. How can you make a tank any safer when there are millions of idiots on the highways? This is the kind of shit Ford should have put to bed years ago for whatever the cost and put it back on the customer. But instead just let the media slam them again and again untill they scared more people away from buying one of the safest vehicles on the highway.
  3. CAW's Hargrove Urges Voters to Defeat Conservatives TORONTO, Jan. 18 /CNW/ - CAW president Buzz Hargrove wants to reiterate the union's position during the current federal election campaign, a position clearly stated in a recommendation adopted by hundreds of CAW workplace leaders who attended CAW Council in December 2005. The CAW recommendation urges its membership to vote to support NDP incumbents and NDP candidates with a strong chance of winning in the current campaign. In ridings where the NDP candidate does not have a strong chance of winning, CAW members are encouraged to vote for the candidate who has the best chance to beat the Conservatives. Hargrove joined Prime Minister Paul Martin Wednesday in a Strathroy, Ontario campaign event for his announcement of a pension guarantee fund to protect workers pensions when their employer goes bankrupt. Hargrove was also on hand for Martin's announcement committing to maintain the viability of Ford's St. Thomas, Ontario auto assembly plant. At the event Hargrove outlined concerns about the damage that a Harper Conservative victory would bring to federal government powers and programs. Hargrove is urging Canadians to vote for the candidate in their riding who is most likely to defeat the Conservatives. In response to a reporter's question about what that means for Quebec voters, Hargrove stated that it is up to the people of Quebec to decide how they vote to stop a Harper government. What did Martin say about St Thomas? I couldn't find his actual comments only this.
  4. Just moving this back to the top of the forum. Your right it is very interesting.
  5. Being Canadian the only thing we get on the ford employee site is AXZ plan discount? What other discounts are you folks getting through the employee site?
  6. Ok I'll sacrifice myself :D What cha got?
  7. I have to agree with Imawhosure. The union has totally failed in there mandate of protecting us. Break open the war chest and get Toyota Honda and there suppliers in the union. If that doesn't happen and happen fast we are toast. there's no question about it. We can not compete now and even if the did join it would take years and years before the costs come close to our 100 years old companies. Did any of you see the CNN story this morning on GM. what a load of shit. This morning you ran a story about the auto industry and how hard it was to figure out which vehicles were American made. The story was a half truth. Though the industry has become crowded you CAN tell were a vehicle is made. Whether import or domestic and what the content level is (meaning part). The vin number gives you all the information you said was to hard to find. COME ON If your going to run a story like that you should give the FACTS. Like helping the consumer identify which vehicle are made in the USA and what the American content is in them. Not some BS story that severs no Americans and only help the import companies sell more of their vehicles assembled here WITH all their foreign part inside. Like at the end of the story saying Toyota employees 60,000 and not say how may GM, FORD & CHRYSLER which would be somewhere around 500,000 directly and millions indirectly. Today it's just Toyota Honda and Hyundai next in 07 the truck tariff is gone, that's why we built so many trucks and no cars and then Chinese and Taiwanese and every other low wage sweat shop in the world. Our governments need to step up to the plate and show the same kind of protectionism that the Japanese have done instead of letting us be the dumping ground of the world.
