  1. A few weeks ago, my 2011 Ford Fiesta encountered a rather hard (although nothing extreme) stop at an awkwardly positioned stop light. Seconds after the stop, the RPMs starting fluctuating up and down while idling and then the engine shut off. I restarted the car and drove without further issue, with the exception of the "Hill Assist" and "AdvanceTrac" lights illuminated on the instrument panel. My best guess was that the hard stop prompted an automatic shutoff of the engine, something programmed in case of accidents to possible fire. In the two weeks after this incident, I've encountered no repeats of the situation, although the previously light displays came on again. Then driving to work two days ago, the car stalled again at the stoplight after exiting the freeway, and then did the same thing on the way home (with the two lights displayed both times). The only two factors present all three times were idling at a stoplight after exiting a freeway and secondly, having under 50 miles worth of gas left (but had enough to know I did not run out of gas). Taking the car to the Ford dealership the first time revealed no information. It is now there for a second time and they have still yet to find anything. They have ran computer tests, spoken to Ford directly, test driven the car, etc. = nothing. Here are some items I had requested they consider: -O2 sensor -EGR valve -IAC (idle air control) -Throttle body -Clogged idle air passage -Catalytic converter -Fuel injection system -Airflow sensor -Fuel pressure regulator With the newness of the car, I'd be surprised if anything major was causing this. My best thought is that there is an electronic miscommunication between the drive assist features and the engine/idle control. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
  2. Any Idea when Ford dealer's will see a Fiesta ST on the lots here in North America ? Heard there might be a hold on them at the plant any truth to that ? I've had one on order since Spring so ANY info would be fun to have Thanks RM

  4. Most Frugal Ford Van Ever - Fiesta Van ECOnetic Technology Returning 86mpg - Debuts at Birmingham CV Show The most fuel-efficient van ever produced by Ford, the new Fiesta Van ECOnetic Technology makes its public debut at the Birmingham CV Show Enhanced fuel-saving technologies, including standard Auto-Start-Stop, cut CO2 emissions from 95g/km to 87g/km, and reduce fuel consumption by eight percent to 3.3l/100km (86mpg) Best-in-class emissions and fuel economy provide van operators with further reduced cost-of-ownership, and enable businesses to enhance their environmental credentials FORD FIESTA FORUM– Ford is showcasing its most frugal Ford commercial vehicle ever - the Fiesta Van ECOnetic which returns 86mpg - at the Birmingham CV Show. This ultra-economical new model which is making its full public debut at the show is now available for order by European customers. Cutting CO2 emissions and fuel consumption by eight percent compared to the current Fiesta Van ECOnetic model, the latest economy leader from Ford now delivers best-in-class CO2 emissions of 87g/km and fuel consumption of 3.3l/100km (86.5mpg)*. With its highly efficient 95PS 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine and practical 1.0 cubic metre load space, the Fiesta Van ECOnetic Technology provides businesses with a versatile van which offers exceptionally low cost-of-ownership, while enhancing their environmental credentials. “The latest efficiency gains achieved by Ford engineers enable the Fiesta Van ECOnetic Technology to set a new economy benchmark in the light van class,” said Jesus Alonso, Director CV Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe. “This is a smart, capable van which helps users cut their running costs, and their carbon footprint.” The new model achieves its enhanced economy through further engine efficiency improvements and the fitment of Auto-Start-Stop as standard. These features are combined with other Ford ECOnetic Technology innovations like Smart Regenerative Charging, Eco Mode and shift indicator light. The model also benefits from additional efficiency measures including optimised gear ratios, enhanced aerodynamics with lowered suspension, undershields and wheel deflectors, as well as low rolling resistance tyres.
