[EDIT - the title was changed to reflect Auto Engine Shutoff and not Auto Stop/Start as originally posted] Recently I took my dog Gracie to the vet and made a stop afterwards at Verizon for phone purchase. I left my 2019 Nautilus locked and running with AC on. (I had turned auto start/stop off when I left the vet's office). I went out to check on her a couple of times since I was there around 40 minutes. When I came out to leave the car had cut off. I was horrified to think my dog could have died in a hot car if I had been away much longer! Thankfully it was a cloudy day but still over 90 degrees and the car mustn't have been turned off long. A gentleman came out of store after me and saw what happened. He said he worked at the local Ford dealership and the car would cut off after 10 minutes of idle even with Auto start/stop turned off. I've looked in my manual and do not find this specified. I travel with my two dogs on 9 hour trips with short stops along the way. I really dislike this feature and regret trading my 2016 MKX for the Nautilus. Furthermore, buyers/owners should be made well aware of this life threatening feature with a warning sign inside the car.
