tnaq Posted February 25, 2007 Share Posted February 25, 2007 Have 2006 F150 4x4 Lariat Crew Cab short bed w/ 5.4L. Not a big user, but exercise the 4x4 1-2 times a month. A few weeks ago the 4x4 would not work (no lights also). Brought to dealer on 2/6 and they changed the solenoid. Used it the next day with no probem in Hi or Low. Tried again last week and once again it didn't work. Also after several attempts. Let another day pass and thought I try once more before contacting dealer, SURPRISE it worked again.....Any idea to what may be problem?...I need it to be realiable to work when really needed. Let another day pass and thought I try once more before contacting dealer, SURPRISE it worked again.....Any idea to what may be problem?...I need it to be realiable to work when really needed. had same problem with 03 navigator, service writer drove around with me, ran thru 4WDL and 4WDH and problem went away.....he mentioned he could change solenoid, but problem would reoccur most likely...... after visit didnt have any problems.
