swenson88 Posted May 2, 2007 Share Posted May 2, 2007 It's getting it for 2009. Ford is incapable of improving current vehicles drivetrains, and must wait until redesigns. Oh wait, I forgot about the Escape. Ford was unable to improve the drivetrain of that redesign too.... IIRC the floorplan of the F150 is unable to accomodate the 6spd auto in its current form, hence having to wait until the 2009 update, just like the Expy had to wait for the 2007 update. Kind of stupid that Ford decided back in the early 2000's to give their SUV's separate frames from their truck counterparts, but hopefully moves like this are gradually being reversed.
