You are correct level. Friday the 16 of November we are off

I don't know if we will be off, but here is our holiday schedule from the present contract. We have received every election day off, no matter if it is a national election or not.

From the way it was explained to me, we will be retroed the holiday if the contract isn't negotiated by then, and pending these days are going to be in our upcoming contract.

"IF" this holiday is agreeed upon, then yes they would have to retro us the pay. Same with any holiday we were to miss due to negotiations ongoing through that particular holiday. BUT, I agree with the census, that this holiday will most likely not be negotiated in this set of contracts.

Remember people we are still under our old contract and if it says we get a day off then we do!!!

yep we are working under a contract extension.the contract listed paid holidays by date and since we are now past the expiration date of the contract no new holidays fall under the contract extension.that doesnt mean we wont get them, maybe they will negotiate it,maybe they wont. only national elections are paid holidays anyway.

"2005 - 2006

Nov. 8, 2005 Election Day

Plus, two family days over the term of the agreement. = 69 paid days off."

There were actually (3) election day's in that past contract. IF you've studied the GM and Chrysler contracts you will see it says 68 paid holidays. 2 of them election days. 2 of them to be Monday after holiday's. Neither of those contracts state family days'. Family days were either a use them or lose them proposition. I know of people who lost them due to saving them, then being on medical at the end of the contract, and never having used them.

Kiss your family days good bye. Kiss your PPH days good bye. With 2 new paid after holidays off, you stand a better chance of working one of those days.
