c17chief Posted March 20, 2009 Share Posted March 20, 2009 I have an 09 XLT with the base 4spkr audio system + sirrius + Sync. I have toyed with the idea picking up the audiophile unit if I happen to come across a pull for cheap on ebay or something at some random time, pretty much solely for the speed sensitive volume. One of those small things you dont realize how big of an impact it has on you till you've had it then go without it, at least for me. Anyhow, I think I have seen mentioned before that Sync is tied to the serial number of the audio unit it is originally installed with. Where I saw that mentioned I think was with a thread with someone wanting to add factory nav to a Sync equipped vehicle and the sync part of it did not work. I dunno if it was due to the nav or the sync module though. At either rate, does anyone know for sure if the base to audiophile unit would be an easy swap and Sync work fine afterwards? Like with no dealer reprogramming or anything necessary? And another thing that just popped in my mind while typing this since the audiophile system uses more speakers and I would assume maybe an (or some) amp, would the 4 speakers of the base system plug into it and work normally?
