The Benefit of EcoBoost

Recommended Posts

Out of the loop for a while, do they still build the er, GT500, on the niche line in Romeo, and if so, what will they do as the mod is phased out?

The plant operates two lines – a high-volume Line, or HVL, and a niche line, where employees meticulously hand build 5.4 liter, 4-valve supercharged engines for the Shelby GT500. The HVL builds 4.6 liter two-valve and three-valve V-8 engines and 4.6 liter 2-valve Flex Fuel V-8 engines, delivering 140 engines an hour.

Ford has no plans in the near future to phase out the V8.

It says "twin tubo charger" at about 0:38. Get some spell checkers Ford. I don't want to open any hoods and find a "tubocharged" badge.

No no no. You have it all wrong, it is a twin tubo charger. Given the increasing size of the american butt, and the inattentiveness of american drivers, the twin tubo charger is a device (one in each front bucket seat) used to apply an electrical charge to the butt of the driver and passenger to occasionaly rouse them from a texting induced stupor.

Maybe it's a dig at Dodge and their inflated LX platform as in "That sure is one big tub o' Charger."
