bham driver Posted February 25, 2010 Share Posted February 25, 2010 Have 2009 Escape I bought in Nov, 2009, with around 19k miles, now has 21k, and has been in the Ford shop about half the time of my ownership. Just got it back from 5 weeks at the dealer repair service, had to wait on parts. They replaced the axle system, hoping to correct a leak of transmission fluid from under the drivers side front and to replace a faulty third party vendor axle sytem that Ford knows about. No more leaking, but I still have a thump noise from the suspension when I slow down, or when I apply the brake, or when I release the brake and accelerate. Very pronounced when going over speed bumps, like the parking lot at my workplace. Not noticing on the Interstate at higher speeds. I'm taking back to the service dept. hoping they can correct it. I'm ready for Ford to buy back this car. Like the Escape a lot, just not this particular one! Wondering if anyone else with similar issues, and what was your outcome?
