  1. My 05 started rusting years ago. Both the passenger and drivers side. I had to do some creative body work on the passenger side as well. But all in all, you can't complain about getting 226K miles out of a car and selling it for 2500.
  2. Our Sync system died roughly at 1000miles. Screen went black...message came up and said Sync by Microsoft is doing routine maintenance...it would fget roughly 75% complete and crash. A few min later the same process would start again. The dealer replaced some parts (cant remember what they were) and it has worked since. 2 weeks ago it did get a little hairy. while driving, the screen went dead. I pulled over and turned the car off (with my wife bitching up a storm in the process). When I started the car, the routine message came up again. This time it completed its task and has worked fine ever since.
  3. We have a 2011 Edge SEL AWD with the 18"aluminum wheels. With roughly 2500 miles we are averaging 20.8 in mixed driving(slight biased towards city driving). It has gone up from 19.3 when it was new. I have done 1 oil change @ 1300 miles so far. After a Memorial Day trip, I will probably drop the oil and switch over to 5W20 full synthetic. Hopefully on my trip (into the WV mountains) I can get 24mpg.
  4. I'll be a weaner and correct you too...390 2v was 68 only. :tease: (only busting your balls)
  5. Yes it has a filter, more like a screen. I have never changed the filter in my 05 Escape. I drain and refill the trans every 2nd or 3rd oil change. It takes about 3.5 quarts. 3.5 quarts of Mercon every couple of oil changes is no big deal cost wise and keeps newer fluid in the system. The trans is fine with over 100K miles on it. Sure beats having to remove the transaxle, open the unit, replace the filter, and then have to reseal it and reinstall it. This is also done on Toyotas, Nissans, and Hondas. Drain and fill. And boy, do a lot of people have some warped ideas on fluids. Its kind of comical.
  6. Your lucky if you can find someone who will mount the tires from the rack for you. If someone brings them in to us, the answer is a flat no...not interested. When they look at you like you an alien, you simply ask the question "do you bring your own food to a restaurant and ask them to cook it?" That kind of puts things in prospective. When you add the extras in, the rack doesn't save you a lot. And like Hydro said, the dealer is going to bang you very hard for tires...not to mention the nitrogen inflation they are going to push you to get...at $10 a tire.

  8. Sorry, an EcoBoost v6 in a Raptor R just gives me indigestion. EcoBoost the Coyote or something.
  9. This thread should help you out. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/39306-nothing-like-a-not-so-subtle-hint/
  10. AWD tuned car eats up a stock RWD car with handling mods The majority of handling mods hurt acceleration tests. Nothing new...SRT8 Cherokees have been doing it for a long time.
  11. Looks like the driver could use more seat time.
  12. Yep. There really wasn't much purpose in this engine. The 410 was a family hauler. It never had any performance appeal to it. A 428 crank in a 390 gives you the 410.

Well...if you want to be technical...all 03 through 08 Mustang GTs were faster than 03-08 Camaros.....................................................................
  14. But the data is there and Ford NA already did the homework and passed the test. There have been to date 3 high torque vehicles (Cobra, GT500, and GT). I don't understand the poor use of resources...if that is the case. This should be a no brainer.
