chaskuss
I purchased a 3.0 long block for a 1999 Ranger [build date 11/98] with the flex fuel 3.0 liter V6 [engine code V]. When I torque the intake manifold down, the intake is about .050" lower than the cylinder heads at the valve cover gasket surface. The rebuilder sent me a second long block but it's even worse than the original. It appears to me that the didn't do the math correctly when they machined the cylinder heads. Is there any way to compensate for this? Does Ford or any aftermarket company make extra thick intake manifold gaskets? I'm currently using Fel-Pro gaskets. The vendor's tech folks aren't much help. I need to get this thing finished & on the road. Charlie VIN 1FTYR14V2XPA58987
