MustangGal
Hi. I have ordered my Mustang GT Premium and got my VIN number over a month ago, with a build date of the week of Aug. 16. My VIN number is 1ZVBP8CF1B5143593. Can someone please let me know where in the process my car is...We were told by the dealership POC that it should arrive around Labor Day weekend, but my check for financing expires Sept. 4...so i need to know if i need to go in and pay before then. Any help would be much appreciated!
cyberdman
As of August 19th your vehicle entered the Trim line, or the second stage of production. ETA is listed as of the week of August 30th, but that seems a little inaccurate as they haven't finished your build yet.
escape777
Hello, I also ordered a Kona Blue Mustang GT Premium Coupe on July 7th, 2011. Today I called and got a Vin Number. 1ZVBP8CF6B5147915. I'm wondering how long it will take to get to the dealership and what the status is on my "Baby"? The dealership stated 6-8 weeks which also puts me in the Labor Day week time line.... So what's the scoop on it? Does anyone know? Please help!

MustangGal
Cyberdman, thank you for your rapid response and your information. Upon looking at the sticker I noticed that the color of the vehicle is black, I ordered white. Is the sticker correct or could have been a typo? I attempted to contact the dealership yesterday and they have yet to respond to me. Thank you for all your help.
cyberdman
Oooooh, uh oh. No, the sticker is right, the system shows the car as Ebony. Keep hounding your dealership.

MustangGal
Thanks cyberdman. We finally got the dealer to contact us (after you told us what color the car in fact was), am pretty sure that the dealer thinks that i am some spy or something as he has no idea how i found out things about the car he didn't know. It was quite funny and I thank you for that. Anyways, I decided to take the black one anyways because originally white and black were the two i was debating between and they discounted it 500 for us for the color getting messed up. I thought it should have been more, but not complaining. The dealer said that I was correct that the est. ETA is the 30th, the dealer said not to hold our breaths on that though. Is there any way of tracking where the vehicle is or could you tell me if the system indicates that it has shipped yet? As always, thanks for checking this post. You are the greatest! cyberdman
Well at least all is well in the end. Yes if the shipping information has been posted I can look it up. It is currently on Ramp 51 marked "In Transit Received - Rail (Auto Warehousing)" as of Aug 25. When it actually leaves it can be tracked via each rail junction point. ETA is now the week of Sept 03. MustangGal
Someone needs to tell my wife that. If you give me her email address I will definitely tell her for you lol. So, I'm assuming it should be enroute to here somewhere. How does one go about tracking its whereabouts? Again, thanks for everything.
cyberdman
LOL. As far as shipping goes, unfortunately for me, no there isn't any way you can track it. Just ask and I can follow up with shipping updates as they happen. As of yesterday still Awaiting Shipment.

I'm sorry to bother you again, but could you tell me if there is any change on the status of our car. I'm working on extending our loan since it expires tomorrow and I know our car won't be here yet. I would like to have a guess on how long i should extend it for. Thanks as always for all of your help.
cyberdman
No updates, still hasn't shipped. If you are leasing and financed through Ford Credit you can usually call them with details for a basical standard 2 month lease extension. If your car comes in you can terminate your lease anytime during that period - although personally if I pay for a whole month I'd keep the car for that whole month. Your salesperson, if they were a halfway decent salesperson, they should hold your car you ordered for you until you terminate your extended lease. I wouldn't think it would be any more than a couple of weeks until you see your new car - but don't quote me on that - things happen.

We are actually going through our bank with the "blank check" option. It expires tomorrow so after that we have to reapply, which isn't a worry, just a hassle. We were told by our crap dealer that he couldn't do any of the paperwork unti the car actually got here, which is a lie from what he said earlier. I called this morning and talked to his fleet manager who said no that wouldn't be a problem and they could do the paperwork...really don't like this guy. i figured a couple of weeks, but definitely know things can happen...just waiting patiently. Thanks for all your help.

choff1138
MustangGal - sounds like you and I have the same relationship with dealers - I almost ordered through a dealer out of state and paid extra to have it shipped to Alaska rather than deal with the options here. Thanks cyberdman again for all you do for us buyers!
cyberdman
No change yet, probably due to holiday weekend.
MustangGal
No change yet, probably due to holiday weekend. Cyberdman: Thanks for the update. Hopefully it won't be much longer, and luckily I was kind of expecting this part to take the longest after everything I'd researched. Hope you had a good weekend. MustangGal
No change yet, probably due to holiday weekend. Hi Cyberdman. Finally got my check (again) and am wondering if my car is enroute yet. If you get a spare moment, could you please check for me? Hope you have a great weekend. I am so glad it is finally Friday! cyberdman
Actually now that I view the whole chart, I don't think it has actually been completed yet. It looks like it just got shipped to the upfitter, which is basically just it being carted over to another ramp to complete some additional assembly of extra items on the vehicle. The last status is listed as of Aug 31, like I think I already mentioned. There must be some backups at the plant or some other reason, but I believe it still hasn't completed production because it never got released from the plant yet. Sorry if I led you on, but sometimes I have so many requests I forget what I have looked up and not. It may still be a while before it actually gets shipped out to you.
