Poor interior heating

Recommended Posts

I have a 2008 SP that is awesome except for when winter comes around.

Can anyone help with valid suggestions or ideas to the problem? (If it helps with the brainstorming my ST is an XLT so it has the auto climate controls.)

The floor venting all but does not exist.

With the floor heat running on high my calves and my left foot are constantly cold. The only true air flow I feel comes from a vent about half way between the firewall and the front of the seat and it is on the bottom of the console.

Also with the floor selected everything above the knee is also cold.

I have also tried bi-level and that only seems to reduce the air flow coming from the vent and does not create enough pressure to force air through the floor.

I have talked to Ford, who must hire morans (sorry that’s just the ones I got stuck talking to) and explained to them my issue and was told it would be passed on to the engineers to determine what may be the problem and any possible solution.

I was contacted by a Ford engineer who just flat out told me that was the way it was designed and I had to deal with it, he was not willing to even give suggestions or ideason how to help.

If your A/C cools properly it sounds like your Blend Door is not working right. The blend door allows heated air from your heater core into the HVAC duct system. At any rate, something is preventing air flow from your heater core and this is not normal. Take it to another dealer for the right answers.

That sounds good and all. However I have had 2 dealers look at it and at one place the service rep said he also had a ST and another customer has an Explorer and both of there heating was just as poor
