Blue Oval Guide
Ford C-Max Energi joins C-Max lineup Ford wrapped up last week by revealing its first-ever production electric vehicle by unveiling the 2012 Ford Focus Electric in front of a packed audience at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now the automaker has taken wraps off of two more electric vehicles, the C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid, as well as the C-Max Hybrid shown in the gallery above. While the Focus Electric stole the show at CES, and the C-Max Energi will likely garner more attention than the conventional C-Max Hybrid, this model is still an important addition to the automaker’s lineup as it marks just the third hybrid vehicle offered by the Dearborn-based company. Furthermore, the C-Max Hybrid will carry a lower price tag than the more advanced Energi variant, and may prove to be a more economical solution for many buyers. Like the C-Max Energi, the C-Max Hybrid makes use of four traditional doors plus a rear hatch, and seats five adults. Keeping that in mind, the C-Max Hybrid is also projected by Ford to bring home a fuel efficiency rating that is actually higher than the Fusion Hybrid – besting its 41 mpg city rating – although Ford has yet to release exact ratings.
