16yearsfornothing
Ford is doing quite well these days! No wonder.....Alan Mullally and team have done a wonderfull job. But it's not rocket science....it's quite simple how this has taken shape. Now that we have had time to watch this transpire..... Layoff the people who have given half their career or more, and some of the best years of their lives to the company. Did everything thats ever been asked of them, just to rehire brand new workers back at half the wage! No wonder the salaried employees are smiling.....all the way to the bank. The Union leadership is just as bad, they're a business all the same. As long as they have members paying dues, whether at full wage, half wage or even while on lay-off, it's all good!! They cut deals to keep all their cushy APPOINTED jobs and remain untouched with overtime to boot! Many of these appointed members have less seniority than the very people on lay-off. They get to continue to collect a paycheck and Ford gets to continue to remove workers at will. For example they continue to offer buyouts and retirement incentives, so they can rehire new low wage hires to retake the very spots that were lost in the restructuing....ie. Chicage is going to 3 shifts soon! .In Windsor they are displacing older seniority workers from WAP, to the engine plants forcing more people to lay-offs and keeping current laid off members from coming back......all negotiated the by so called leadership of the CAW. 2000 more will cease to have a future at St. Thomas Assembly this summer. But approx 7000 total new low wage hires will come to pass in the U.S. in the next couple years according to recent press reports. Mexico continues to boom under Ford Motor, with more than 6 Billion in investments in the last 5 years! This is a reality check people! For those of you left standing, enjoy your profit sharing checks while they last, you certainly deserve it....and for those of us still on the street, time for career change and a new Honda!!

You will extend your layoff even longer, that makes no sense whatsoever....... We're FORCED to go through a career change BECAUSE our jobs are being displaced by lower tier workers or work sent to Mexico/Brazil after 16 years of service. Even if I was to buy a Ford I'm still never getting called back!
pointy
KCAP got a half of a Billion dollars investment and they are pissed. Oh yeah, go on and buy that Honda....... You will extend your layoff even longer, that makes no sense whatsoever....... Excuse me Louie, but 99.999% of the people at KCAP are very ecstatic about the announcement Ford made to us about the future investment of half of a Billion dollars! That one soul, Sprinter, is NOT the spokesperson for KCAP! 16years, go ahead and buy that Honda to insure your extended layoff of not just you BUT also helping others to join you!
