Thank you, YOUR NAME The seniors that voted for this clown is getting exactly what they got coming to them. I just don't like the fact the ones who didnt is getting the hammer also. Let them tax the hell out of pensions. Im not receiving a penions so tax it. Just like those seniors who are on medicaid and medicare and want to vote against the healthcare law. They have their government healthcare but dont want anyone else to receive it. So tax the hell out of their pensions...
Die Wahrheit
There is a protest march planned for Tuesday this week IN lansing against the pension tax proposal. There are more important things at hand then protesting against a pension tax proposal. Things like whats happening in Wisconsin. These Republicraps are trying to break the union. Now protest against that!
soupy
Why don't all repub loving UAW members make sure to thank the new Gov while they are there?

Thank you, YOUR NAME You mean to tell me retirees in Michigan don't have to pay taxes on their pension.. No wonder Michigan is in trouble financially. Sounds a lot like the Uaw -Ford healthcare for retirees in Michigan have a great plan while us peons in Ohio have to pay for everything... I see a parralel with these 2 issues.

Why not make it a socialist government and everyone would get the same. Are you telling me that if you had parents living on a small pension every month you wouldn't mind them skipping a day's medication or going without meals because of the tax. If you were knowledgeable you would know that anyone making less then than $45,000 in pension does not have to pay taxes on their pensions. And if they can change the tax on the pension they will also cut funding per child for education, and have taxes on medical benefits too. Once we allow them to change the system when will it stop. You are no better than the Republicans down South and the newspapers who are so concerned that someone might be better off than you. And think that the factory workers are overpaid for what they do. Truthfully, I think Ohio is the ugliest state I have ever driven through.
soupy
Retire to Michigan. Looking at Kiplingers Ohio state sucks as does the state of Ohio. On a completely insane note. Michigan doesn't tax inheritance and limited Estate taxes, but instead of setting up a 1,000,000 dollar or more inheritence tax, Rick decides to change the exemption and tax middle class retirees. CAN'T tax money that the dead man doesn't need but can tax it while he's alive. Bullshit. Typical repub tactic. Afford tax-breacks for themselves and their rich friends and clients then try to pay for it on the backs of the poor and down-trodden and the shrinking middle-class. WAKE UP PEOPLE! bodette, you can crawl back under your rock and live in ignorace and childish envy.
Marginal Economist
Look at the second set of concessions that we shot down. We get asked for concessions while those that produce nothing are offered bonus's just a month later. You see what value you have to them. I would disagree that salaried folks produce nothing.
