CMXNRG Posted February 24, 2013 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Does the preconditioning feature of the Energi also prewarm the engine via warming the engine coolant or does it accomplish this with electric heaters in the vents? Secondly would it be worth getting a block heater for the occasional trips into -40 F weather if preconditioning is a separate function from the engine? Robertiv Posted March 3, 2013 Share Posted March 3, 2013 Wisconsin dealers in my area seem to always install an engine block heater. I'm thinking that if it is used to warm the engine block in the morning when it's cold out, would it allow the ICE shut off sooner to go into EV more quickly?
