Door Panel

Anyone try and remove the front door panels on there 2013 yet?

I removed the two bolts on the bottom, the two by the handle and the one up by the latch, but the door panel didn't seem to want to come off, idk if im missing a bolt or just didn't pull hard enough up on the panel.

It looks like there are also some clips/pushpins holding the panel on, but those bolts/screws you mentioned should be the only threaded fasteners. Once those bolts/screws are out I believe you need to pull the panel off normal/perpendicular to the door, not up, and naturally once the panel is free you'll need to disconnect some wires and the door handle lever. I'd imagine the clips and possibly some sealant are the culprits for holding the panel in place.

  • 1 year later...

There is a 10mm bolt behind a small plastic panel directly behind the door handle, also are 2 6mm bolts under the bezel that has the power windows and mirror switch's (piano black piece has to be lifted/popped out) the rest are push pin clips...

This is a great little set for taking interior pieces off for $8.00...

Also, this is a handy PDF posted by another member I stumbled onto...

Awesome! I actually have a pair of nylon pry tools from my previous car. They aren't quite as fancy as those but they do the job and don't scratch.

Thanks a lot for the PDF. Now I just have to stress about damaging the gloss black trim pieces lol.

I don't suppose you found the separate PDF for removal of the window switch control?

The way I found to remove that was to get a decent grip with your finger tips on it in the door pull area and it just pops straight up...there is a small wire harness connector that unplugs.

Also, the trim piece under the steering wheel... Is that just something that pulls off?

I'm also trying to get some ideas as to where to access a wire for the interior lighting. I want to add some footwell lights and would like to tap into the lights that open with the doors. Anyone know where such a wire might be?
