igor Posted September 19, 2006 Share Posted September 19, 2006 the onl thing I disagree with is calling Carlos .. lookt how Nissan and Infinity are doing and you know the answer is not positive. Carlos is a good cost cutter - he is not imaginative enough to mave a vision, and he is too dominant to hire people who could compensate the company for this personal flaw. As a result, Nissan/Renault (but especially Nissna) will go the way of DCX - boom and burst ... boom and burst. Sustained growth needs a confident vision - a correct vision - look at Lutz (and Wagoner) -wagoner is a bean counter - but he compensates for it by having Lutz at his side - and Lutz knows what he wants GM to look like - if he is wrong than HE IS wrong - but he has a vision that igves the company a direction - and the direction seems to be a pretty good one right now. Anyways -- I like how the medium term outlook of Ford in the media became much more aligned with reality once Muulally took over - the media do actually notice, that Ford has 2 years of famine, followed by improvement - they missed the point when Bill was at the top - just for that the move to put Alan in charge was a good one.
