America is supposed to be the richest and most powerful country in the world and we cant even get free healthcare like Canadians. Canadian auto workers pay LOTS of taxes. Social health care scoops half of our tax dollars. Poor people go to the doctor for an ingrown fingernail. Old widows go to the doctor to get a free feel. I remember back in the old days, before socialized health care. We all survived. I know that dental care is not covered by the government, but many people have dental plans. Many dentists try to get you in to see them enough times to max out what your plan will cover. The dentist in my home town used to charge $3.00 to pull a tooth. One fellow who did not want to give the dentist $3.00 spent the $3.00 on a bottle of rum, drank it, and pulled his own tooth. My Dad pulled most of his own teeth. I had a really bad toothache. I tried to pull it myself using vice-grip pliers. I loosened it enough to stop the pain, but the cavity was large, and it broke off. It was a back tooth, so it didn't show.
