ChuckL Posted January 27, 2022 Share Posted January 27, 2022 I have an Aviator GT BL (Chroma Caviar on Alpine) on order. Scheduled build week is 1/24 (this week), but window sticker shows the Blend Date as 1/29 (Saturday), so I'm assuming that it will actually be built next week. Hopefully all parts and chips will be available, QC will go smoothly, and it will be on its way to me soon. Based on the window sticker, it looks like it's coming by truck, not rail. Although we have owned Navigators continuously since 1998 (currently on #4), these have always been my wife's cars, so this will be the first Lincoln that's "mine". I'm moving from Audi, where my last models were S6, SQ5, and e-tron. I'm making this change partly as a concession to my wife, who could never quite master the Audi MMI, and partly because I think the Aviator is a really nice looking car (and certainly the best-looking PHEV on my short list). I'm hoping that this will be my last ICE car. I gave up on the e-tron because of the limited range--200 miles if you drove with range in mind, but I'm not good at keeping range as a priority when I'm behind the wheel of a car. I'm hoping that in the next few years the rest of the world will catch up with Tesla on range, and then I'll add an electric car back to my stable to go along with the Aviator.
