StevePin Florida
I am looking for some help in identifying a place to hook up the dash cam. It needs one fuse that is hot all of the time and one that is only hot when the vehicle is either on or in accessory mode. I was thinking about using #29 - Adjustable petals - apparently it is always hot but not sure what other fuse to use. Any help is appreciated. F29 (15A) is indeed hot at all times - adjustable pedals. F35 (5A) is Accessory Delay - Labeled Not Used but did have a fuse in place. I'm using the feeds for a number of accessories. - Remote Radar Detector - Dash Cam - Charge 2 flashlights Additional information: I don't rely on the 5A F35 for my accessories, instead I have it power a relay that then uses the power from F29. StevePin Florida
In your photo it shows the camera wires in the smaller fuse slot. Mine did not seem to fit in the smaller slots. Did you have any issues getting them in?
dennis48755
I had no problems whatsoever with the fit using two Bussman BP-HHTR-RP taps. Dennis
1969 R code Dave
StevePin Florida, I am brand new to this forum and on the verge of buying a dash cam. I found a product by Dongar that lets you power the cam from the rear view mirror. The kit uses a short harness that you plug into the back of the mirror and plug the factory mirror cable into the other end of the harness. The harness then has a connector for powering the cam via a short wire. There are 3 different short wires with different connectors to match the camera power port included in the kit. There may not be power to the mirror/camera when the ignition is OFF taking the parking mode of the camera out of the mix. There is at least one other kit that taps into the harness that is inside the black box on the windshield behind the mirror. I have not used either of these products but YouTube videos are available. Dave.
