Well, the brand is staying, for now. They have a deal with Waymo for AV Pacifica vans.
Also, would cost some money to change the company name, again, from Fiat Chrysler Autos

Some brand loyalists swear that buyers walk out of a Mopar since there's no badge job Chrysler versions of Cherokee or Compass. I mean really? Get a life.
FCA sales were up this past May, no need for badge jobs, just so car needs can add to trivia contest.
The story about the brand dying was click bait, since some get so emotional about it.
BTW, Pacifica can be a Ram product, not Jeep.

Someone looking for a "cheap sedan" can get an S model, usually discounted. Who looking for a cheap car would even look at the Titanium anyway?

They still have the base S model. But, it's not like stripped cars back in the day, like the Taurus L or Escort Pony, with no power windows or AC.

Model A parts are available, not as if some ultra rare classic.

Excursion was an easy target. Anyway, wow this is an old thread, lots of former frequent posters, long gone. Such as B 16, who is probably foaming at the mouth about Ford dropping sedans.

Mostly it's a style change. Can't hope or wish for sedan comeback, have to move on. Ford isn't going to read these comments and then suddenly "hold off".

A hitch is if the future UV market gets competitive, and import makes start cutting prices. Then Ford and GM will lose the "cushion".

Fusion sedan is going away, Billy Ford confirmed it; have to accept it.
The Consumer Reports crowd will always look down on domestic sedans, even if it's good design. They nit pick over them with wrinkled noses and go "eww, it has to be an import for me".
American truck, they empty their bank account for a 4 door crew cab, with leather.

Toyota is moving Corolla production from Canada to new plant, shared with Mazda, in Alabama.

Parts are in demand from chop shops. So, not too surprised that trucks taken, like candy from a baby.

Old Maverick based on the Falcon platform, same as the first Mustang, so lots of after market parts interchange.
And can easily change the 74-77 bumpers to older style.
