  1. Although on one hand I applaud your "good intentions"....I can't help wonder what your "percentage" per reference will be? I truly hope your doing this for the good of your fellow employees, and not to simply pad your pockets :bandance:
  2. Soooooooooo much whining.....geez. Up here in good ole Canada, we don't have a choice period!!! They simply are NOT offering us the buyout package So simply put, if ya want it...take it! Nuff said!!!
  3. When you say "package" I guessing you are referring to your retirement package. Cause from what I have read. the buyout that is extended to our UAW counterparts in tha States will NOT be offered here! Just wondering

Methinks the Freestar is on its last legs...probably be done with it before spring of '07 so as to concentrate on Edge and Lincoln production. Just my meagre two cents worth.

QUOTE(youngSTAP @ Jul 30 2006, 01:08 PM) Do you currently have to wear safety glasses? Just wondering because we just nicely had to start wearing them in St Thomas Jan 1st. of this year. yS Just got the letter in the mail stating safety glasses will be "mandatory" starting September 5th! Probably just the first of many new mandatory items :fan:

  8. At OAC in Oakville, on midnights you can only get crappy coffee, soup and something resembling, I think a burger...no wait a minute...a McEgg'n'Puke that you get to take out of the plastic wrapper, nuke it, smell it....then throw it out I've always felt that if Ford actually ran the cafeteria, have good inexpensive meals($3-5.00)range, it might make for a healthier workforce...But who wants that???
  9. Anyone start their "BUW" forms yet? What a pain in the :kissass:

:blah: :blah: :blah: Hopefully not the same way they dealt with the issue of having to go in on a lay-off week! We were told that Ford knew they were in violation of the collective agreement by making us go in.....what was done.....mmmmmm........nothing!!!! Oh they did tell us if we wanted to stay home that perhaps in 6-8 months, maybe even a year later we would get UI for the week. Personnally.....even though I DO drive a Ford......there's NO way in HELL I would have parked on the "other" side!!! I have no clue as to why everyone obeyed????
  12. Is there any "foreigncountries" registered here?

Actually Charles, I was going to ask you! You seem to know quite abit about the "changes"... What do you mean by getting "left behind"? As in having some jobs eliminated and no place to go?, Jobs becoming more and more overloaded?, Allowing Ford pretty much carte blanche to do what they want completely unimpeded???? Having a job that is safe to do and not burdened with extra work and hazards....Now that would make everyone HAPPY...Right Charles? :happy feet:
  14. Feedom of speech  What can ya do.....

I'm so sick of "be happy you have a job" bullcrap!!! I've been here 22 years, so what!!! You all just seem to not give a damn when Ford changes whatever they want, when they want......Is our local becoming a bunch of sheep to be lead wherever we are told by Ford????? Quit the lovely replies and comebacks and focus on what's really going on around you  Another person who seems quite happy with Ford doing what they want :blah: Never have had a problem working.....used to put in 55-60 in 5 days at the old OTP Paintshop.... big deal I have to work......I'll be here and Ford will have the ear to ear grin
  16. Simply put.....If ya don't like what yer seeing...STOP watching and buying their merchandise!! Only then will Nascar feel the wrath.....geez

Seems midnight shift will be "made" to come in on pp22...the first of 2 lay-off weeks. Guess they don't want to pay us "ssw" without us coming in :kissass: Personally, my biggest beef is with the union earlier telling us that this cannot happen till August and the Company says otherwise= I guess Ford really is in charge...

Just on another topic. A heads up to all who have come over from the van plant paint shop to the so-called new and improved "old truck plant" paint shop. Check to see that your classification has not changed!!! Some zones and jobs have mysteriously had their classifications changed, and should their jobs be eliminated, have no zone or shift to go too Union has been caught off guard by this as well.

I and many others in the Paint Shop(old OAP) would just like a answer which is reliable! I talked with somw 30+yr. senority guys on the way out, and they were genuinely confused as to the union's position and the company's. If the union believes in its position, they did a piss poor job of explaining it to the guys last night  And FYI  we have actually been going 6-8 hours on nights :happy feet:

 One thing that was totally screwed up tonight on C shift. Normally we would be off for the next two weeks...We were told early into the shift that we now just had one week off and HAD to come in April 3rd. Our UNION then tells us its on voluntary  To which we then heard....don't come in for those 5 days....say bye to yer job..WTF  Good ole Ford says one thing, the union another....good fricking grief :o What to do.....? :boring:
  23. Mine too.....we must be twins...lol
