  1. The Local 919 union chairman Ed Hay and President Chris Kimmons are in Myrtle Beach.
  2. Most people do not think about where there vehicle is built. But locally the union reps keep running to the media which just reinforces to consumers in the Norfolk Tidewater area that these trucks are being built by workers who are angry & bitter even though it is the union reps not the workers doing the crying.
  3. One reason. Reading these forums and articles in the local newspapers that openly display the hostility of the local union does not help Norfolk Assembly Plant. The NAP union officials continue to make negative statements on television and in the newspaper which makes all assembly line workers look stupid and like a bunch of crybabys. Lots of workers have lost there jobs with only days notice and there is no sympathy with NAP workers as long as the local union keeps making them look like fools. The UAW representatives reflect the workers attitudes and that is not good for the workers or truck sales. The union is never seen in the plant and never talks to the membership but makes stupid announcements on TV.
  4. You are living in a dream world
  5. Chris Kimmons, Ed Hay and the rest of the useless bunch are in Lebanon, Tennessee this week and next week they will at the Crown Reef at South Beach Resort – Myrtle Beach, SC. They are playing hard with your union dues. Call one of them on their union paid for cell phones and ask them. Wait a minute they don't give that phone number out. That is the UAW way!
  6. Hope you get an offer but Not going to happen at Norfolk.
  7. TRUE it is the UAW stopping the buyouts but many do not want to believe it. The more workers that take buyouts the less union dues collected by the UAW. The UAW will wait until the last minute at most plants scheduled to close and by then Ford will not be offering.
  8. Are you saying that idiot Chris Kimmons got his daughter a job in Michigan? This should be verified before it is posted and if it is true the union members need to bring Kimmons and management up on charges.
  9. This is not news to me - read response on May 2, 2006 concerning UAW & Buyouts Remember the Newspaper article where Kimmons is telling members not to want buyouts. He & and Local 919 Chairman Hay have told the plant manager- NO BUYOUTS at Norfolk. Scootnap- Thank your local union for not getting a buyout. Go pester them.
  10. Norfolk was told about the shut down the day before the Easter break. More news concerning the Norfolk shut down will be passed out the day before vacation break. Maybe we will not be returning to work at NAP - ever.
  11. Sounds like Local 919 leaders. They are only seen when they can get themselves in the newspaper or on local news but they still never say anything but the same old blah, blah, blah.
  12. NAP UAW Chairman Edd Hay & President Chris Kimmons are "negotiating for themselves" to be appointed as UAW International Organizers. $120 million each year spent on organizing can keep these guys employed while the rest at Norfolk will be happy to get a $15.00 an hour job. Hay & Kimmons were seen in Las Vegas up Ron Gettelfinger's butt.
  13. This does NOT include expense money, airplane travel costs, hotel costs or any other additional money they recieve. None of these expenses or their hidden expenses are reported as income. You will never know what money the local, regional or international union officials get because only those on the inside can see their financial records. In other words they have no problem paying union dues because they get their's back each month plus much, much more.
  14. NAP will go to Day shift workin one week and night shift working the following week until the plant is completely shut down. In this way there will be NO buyouts and this is what the UAW wants because All NAP union members will have to continue paying union dues. No buyouts at NAP. This is the UAW working for its members. Gettelfinger is officially re-elected and HIS future income is secure!
  15. WHERE IN THIS ORIGINAL COMMENTS DID IT MENTION TAKING AWAY A WOMEN'S RIGHT TO CHOSE TO HAVE AN ABORTION? UAW Gettelfinger demanded Ford pay for abortions in the previous contract talks and now Gettelfinger in Las Vegas reveals that members must give up their healthcare. He already gave up healthcare for the retirees. is anyone surprised? Will Gettelfinger reveal to the members the special deals Ford is giving him? NO.
  16. BlueOvalForums _ Ford Employees _ UAW WILL MOVE $110 MILLION FROM STRIKE FUND Posted by: Wanderinglost Today, 02:48 PM Who thinks this is a good thing? LAS VEGAS -- The UAW on Tuesday altered its constitution to allow $50 million to be moved from the union's $925 million strike fund to be used for operations. The amendments also permit the union's International Executive Board to allocate an additional $60 million from the strike fund to the general fund for organizing, education and other projects. The $60 million is the maximum that can be moved in the four years between constitutional conventions. Another change would allow additional funds from member dues to be kept at the union locals for organizing and education. About 2,000 union delegates and guests are meeting here at the 34th national convention to choose officers and adjust resources for crucial negotiations for a new master agreement with General Motors, Ford Motor Co. and the Chrysler group in the fall of 2007. Kevin Bollman, chairman of the union's constitution committee, said the amendments will give the union the flexibility it needs to meet challenges. Those challenges include a shrinking market share for the domestic automakers. Cash and cash equivalents in the union's operating funds declined to $64.6 million in 2005 from $68.6 million in 2004, according to a UAW operating statement. In response to concerns voiced by delegates that the transfers would shrink the strike fund on the eve of a possible walkout at Delphi Corp., UAW President Ron Gettelfinger said the fund is adequately funded to weather a 153-week stoppage at Delphi. The UAW says it will strike Delphi if the giant supplier uses the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to void its labor contracts. Delphi put its U.S. operations in Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Oct. 8. Those operations encompass 29 plants and 33,000 unionized workers, including 23,000 represented by the UAW. Delphi has asked the court to void its labor agreements. But the court has delayed further hearings on the request until August because of progress made on GM-funded buyouts and early retirements that could reduce Delphi's hourly work force to less than 10,000 by the end of the year. UAW spokesman Paul Krell said the strike fund will maintain a strong balance from continuing dues payments and investment income. Posted by: DSenstad Today, 03:52 PM From my understanding, the International now employees as many, or nearly as many people as they did when we had our most members. We are losing members every year and they maintain their size? I guess they would need more money to fund their expences. CUT THAT CHECK HERE WE GO ETAP HERE WE GO. CUT THAT CHECK Posted by: TruckerMan2003 Today, 05:03 PM QUOTE(Wanderinglost @ Jun 13 2006, 07:48 PM) Who thinks this is a good thing? :titanic: While in LAS VEGAS -- The UAW on Tuesday altered its constitution to allow $50 million to be moved from the union's $925 million strike fund to be used for operations. This guarantees that their continued traveling to Miami, Palm Beach, Daytona, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Florida, Canada, Los Angeles, Lake Tahoe, etc. will not be stopped. QUOTE(Wanderinglost @ Jun 13 2006, 07:48 PM) UAW spokesman Paul Krell said the strike fund will maintain a strong balance from continuing dues payments and investment income. Paul Krell does not want to be miss his traveling expense account and big UAW salary. He will say what Ron Gettelfinger tells him to say. Nothing the UAW international labor or local labor unions doing in Las Vegas is a good thing for the members. Can you imagine how much this trip to Las Vegas for 2,000 is costing the UAW members? All the union dues collected from the members at all the plants scheduled to close will be handed over to the UAW International. Posted by: grindliner1968 Today, 08:03 PM I guess they're raiding the strike fund because we won't be needing it anymore. We are screwed! How can we impeach a president we dont even vote for? It is now clearer than ever, the International doesnt care about us, just themselves, they dont care about us, they'll gladly sacrifice 3000 of us, in hopes of organizing 3500 lower paying jobs somewhere down the road. Were not sending the work to Mexico anymore, Bush is just going to bring the Mexicans here here to do the work. Don't believe me......just watch and see! I wonder what Gettlefinger bargain away for us next? I sure hope ETAP is still around in September, cause I'm headed back to school, I have lost all confidence that the UAW will be able to protect my job and allow me to maintain my lifestyle for 17 more years
  17. These are the same idiots that suck up to the union reps every time they come near them.

  19. How many idiots are going to strike behind Kimmons! Chris Kimmons says he is supposed to tell the Norfolk workers to strike. A strike at Norfolk will ensure that the plant will close down for all right after a strike begins. Do people actually believe this idiot? Will Norfolk strike?
  20. Hay is too high on his drugs. Next week is bike week several of the union nothings will be there and probably on union money.
  21. And how is the union convention going to benefit the rank and file? Where is the Gettelfinger love fest going to be held?
  22. ED HAY - CHIRS KIMMONS These clowns have contributed to the fall of Norfolk and the UAW.
  23. It was a safety calendar and the UAW safety rep had to allow time for his 2 17 year daughters to prepare there outstanding "childlike" drawings.
  24. Another reason to call Gettelfinger and remind him who is paying his salary. Better call him quick before he changes the UAW telephone number.
