  1. OFFICIALLY it was June 29th 2007. Last day I was there was the 28th. I'm not expecting my buyout check for another week or so.
  2. After leaving NAP, haven't got my buyout check yet, I called Fidelity to find out what the options are on my TESPHE .... we have four options.... 1. Do nothing, you can leave it right where it is. period. 2. Roll it over into a Fidelity IRA 3. Cash it out 4. Roll it over into new employers 401K/IRA plan. Also learned that we CANNOT cash out our pension. Ford informs Fidelity that you no longer work for Ford; 401k.com has already been updated for me. When I turn 55 years old, I'll get $192 per month for my 8.9 years of service. :happy feet:
  3. First, I was just trying to sight an example of the fuel mileage I'm getting with my Escape Hybrid. Second, the regular Escape is not availble with the same engine. The hybrid features a 1.8L 4 banger vs. (I believe) a 2.3L in the regular version. The highway mpg of an Escape Hybrid is higher than that of a non-hybrid. When I purchased my Escape I was able to get A-Plan (obviously) + rebates, + 0% for 5 years in addition to the year end federal tax credit of $2,500. The dealer also paid-off my trade in. I certainly don't think I've wasted my money on a hybrid vehicle. FWIW, in town, I've seen mileage figures as high as 33mpg.
  4. Wixom will NOT reopen. Mustand will NOT move. Flatrock is only running two shifts currently. Contract could change that very soon and they could easily increase capcity with a 3rd shift just like DTP. I thought we all heard a while back that the most efficent way to run a plant is the 3 crew system. Look for the plants that are staying open to all be running 3 crew systems. That's why moving the F150 from KC to Michigan Truck is a likely scenairo along with the Escape dying in a few years for a new Mexician built Bronco.
  5. I have an '06 Escape Hybrid and LOVE it! I get real world 31 mpg running the A/C at about 80mph. The '08 is supposed to be even better with mileage. The tax credit is higher for 08 but if you pay the AMT you won't get the credit.
  6. Wasn't sure if this was old news or not, but MSNBC.com / reuters reported today that the Visteon Bedford, Indiana plant is closing. Also of note was Ford stock rating is now 7, which is significantly up from previously 4.
  7. Not really; when I won't be making the payment in Jan 2008 and the payment will be less than $25,000. I'll have 6 months to make MY money work for me, instead of the government. Thanks STLCowboy!
  8. Actually their are many ways to aviod penalties; thus part of the reason for asking this question. One of the ways you can avoid penalties is by making "Estimated Tax Payments." This is something ANYONE can do, if you owe the IRS money. With the buyout check coming in the 3rd quarter one would also ONLY be paying a penalty for underpaying taxes in the 3rd and 4th quarter. In making estimated taxes payments you have until Jan 15 2008 to make that payment WITHOUT incurring ANY penalty. Yes, you can pay now or pay later but I would like to make my money work for me before the government gets 25%. Usually, after doing my taxes via Turbo Tax or whatever my actual tax rate is less than 15%. When it gets close to my buyout date (End of June) I'll be changing my withholdings to either Married 99 or EXEMPT or both.
  9. Thanks for reading, I don't know that this question has been asked this way before. Is their a witholding amount say "Married 4" that will have SOME federal taxes taken out as opposed to the full $25,000. I know at least one person has posted that they changed to their withholding to "Married 99" and had Zero federal taxes withheld. I don't want to go that far; So is there a middle ground at all? Thanks for help!
  10. What about the 5.4L IAFM lines? Still running? Did they ever add another line? (for the Expedition/Nag) My father (who retired from Raw) recently spoke with Ralph Mayer and he said they're writing as many health & safety grievences as possible so that strike is an option, as a last resort.
  11. Heard today that DTP goes to 4 x 10 second week of May. NAP is NOT staying open till 08 09. We are done, accept it people, PLEASE!
  12. Are you flowback 2 or from Gen pool. I'm going to assume flowback because you mentioned your from Monroe. I don't know if anything changed with flowback version 2.0 but under the orginal plan it was both Transfer moving allowance AND STI. DO NOT take the Enhanced Moving Allowance (you don't get all three do the math) Also when you flowback you give up your return to basic unit rights as well, with the exception of new location closure. I received $3,800(ish) from transfer moving allowance for being married and received STI of $45,000 in three payments $10,000 on arrivial, $15,000 after one year and $20,000 after 2 years. BTW -- What's your seniority? Good luck, when do you have to report to the new location?
  13. It means a couple of things: A. lol You're screwed :happy feet: B. Joel's trying to cover his ass by blameing someone else. Big surprise their.
  14. The Edge is being built at the same place (OAC) as the FreeStar mini-van WAS built. The Edge is NOT replacing the mini-van in the Ford line up. A future vehicle currently called the Fairlane concept is Ford's replacement for the mini-van. And frankly, the Fairlane is butt ugly, but then again I don't need a minivan.
  15. Ya know the people at NAP said the same thing for years. BTW -- Do you have a news release or article in the local paper that you can point to with regards to this 25,000 unit order from Scotts. Frankly, 25,000 is an absolutely huge order and is pretty much unbelieveable without proof. Ford and Scotts both would have some sort of press release about an order of this magnitude!
  16. I don't think MTP will close. I do think that KCAP will close. This is my speculation! The new Edge will suplant the existing Escape and Explorer in the Ford product line. Ford will push Edge and make it success at all costs, it's too important to fail. The revamped '08 Escape will be the last generation Escape. As mentioned elsewhere it is believe that the next Explorer is too be built in Chicago on the Volvo/500/MkS platform which spells doom for LAP. The F150 production from KCAP can certainly be moved to MTP with the Expedition/Nav.
  17. I can only hope that justice is served in this matter.... however, or whoever wants to dish it out! If this story is picked up by the Detroit media, Detroit News, Free Press, Channel 7, Fox 2 or WDIV during the North American International Auto Show Press Week it will go global and be nothing more than another huge black eye for the union and Ford. Headline in Toyota Newsletter in Georgetown, KY "Look at how they treat their own" or "Union Brotherhoodlems"
  18. I also got my unemployment check. Somebody had to screw up big time. So can I file a grievance and get the holiday pay too? :happy feet:
  19. 18 Puts me between Clinton and Powell. I really like Powell and would like to see him run for President. I think Clinton was a good President but a bad man, which will forever taint his legacy. When Regan was in office I (was a kid) really liked him and thought he was doing the correct things for the country; today I look back and see that he spent way too much money. Bush Sr. road on Reagan's coat-tails. W - Fucking idiot should be impeached and tried for War Crimes against humanity.
  20. Keep blowing smoke.... and read Article IX (d) Page 120 "A seniority employee who is laid off during the second workweek prior to a week in which one or more of the holidays in the Christmas holiday period falls, and who worked his last scheduled working day prior to such layoff, shall, if otherwise eligible, receive pay for the holidays falling with the Christmas holiday period." If you can find something that IN WRITING contradicts this please feel free to post it... Chapter and verse.
  21. The paperwork you signed for your buyout package states that you canNOT sue. You made your bed now lie in it, and while your at it turn off your computer, so you can save money on your electric bill, you're going to need it. :happy feet:
  22. Before Christmas break and the December sales announcement (F Series sales down 21%) I was told the tentative date is August 17th from a union official. Things are a bit messed up here currently. Dayshift (pre-one shift operation) employees did NOT receive their paychecks today for the holiday period. I don't know the real reason, all I know is that I/we didn't get paid. Ya, former nightshift employees got their checks.
  23. The Escape Hybrid has a longer warranty on it already. I believe the specific hybrid components are covered for 8 years/ 100,000 miles. You may not need to buy an extended warranty at all.
  24. Hey, Ipity.. How come no one, and I mean NO ONE ever talks about the Portland, OR HVC? I would have loved to go there, but know that it won't happen.
