  1. I am not sure Jeff. Still waiting for fordtrucklover to get back from the circle jerk committee meeting. Hell ford motor failed Six Sigma maybe they can get it right down on the line. :slap:
  2. maybe the bimbo at ford needs to read how the VGT system works. Yes, removal and cleaning the intake would be a good idea. Not to mention replacing the turbo. What happens in these turbos the piston that controls the variable veins gets stuck in the bore. There is a book (from ford) that says to remove the cover for this piston and see if you can move the piston with a magnet. Hey fordtrucklover, did they pass this book by you and your circle jerk committee before they used it to train the technicians????
  3. Pioneer, Sorry not a lawyer nor a troll, just a tech that has to deal with the problems on a daily basis. I just get tired of hearing "it is a dealer issue". I just want to know when does it become a FORD issue? If every dealer is having the same problem, and dealers have to pay a franchise fee, doesn't it become a corporate issue? Or do we just rob everyone of what we can get and run like hell? Fordtrucklover, If the best thing you can come up with is: "get rid of your truck asap & take Ford up on there discount offer towards an '07 or whatever if you cant get them to buy back....good luck to ya...i sincerely hope all works out for ya!" and....... "God Bless FoMoCo!" To a customer of Ford Motor who are one of the many that helps in the making of your paycheck then you are the one that needs to get the fuck off this forum!!!! Or maybe take a step outside your plant and take a look around, but in order to do that you will need to get out from under a desk at ford and stand up. You said I need to spend my time organizing. I have tried it is not an easy thing to do. Have you ever tried to organize? Trying to get a bunch of "ME ME ME ME" OR "MINE MINE MINE MINE" people on the same page that understand this is something that will be good for the group as a whole. Then when push comes to shove the people who said they are behind you show their real colors. I will tell you what happens these people fall on their backs and spread their legs and prove to EVERYONE that all they are a whiny bitches! They leave you standing there and as you look around you are the ONLY ONE STILL GIVING THE FINGER TO THE ASSHOLES IN CHARGE! Or did you walk into a ford plant and not have to worry about any of that. because the UAW was already there? If the UAW wasn't there would you have what it takes to be one of the people at the "Battle of the Overpass" at the Rouge plant when the UAW was first getting started? Would you have the balls to stand there have the living shit beat out of you by a bunch of ford thugs and then get up the next morning and push on? Would you put all of your material gains and security on the line just so that everyone has the chance to live a better life and provide a better life for their families? Until you have done all of these things or willing to try YOU NEED TO SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!! Go back to your plant and start saying "God bless those that are will to put everything on the line so I can have what I have". My past organization attempts have only done one thing, it has made it just about impossible for me to get another job at a ford dealer. One last thing about being organized. Your next contract ford will be looking at a lot of things to take away, are you ready and willing to go out on strike? Also, will you be willing to stand out there till you get everything you want? Can you afford to do something like that? When it comes offering my skills and talents to ford, I gave 20 years to them at there dealers. Then one day I saw the light and I now work for a company that pays better than ford motor or any dealer. Ford motor and the dealers can no longer afford me. Oh did I mention that I didn't need a UAW contract to get it? I am able to get everything that you can because of my skills and talents. Can you walk out of your plant and get the same pay and benefits where ever you go? I don't think so, unless you are in skill trades. There is another way you could leave a plant and make the same money, and that is to attend college and get a degree in something other than dick stroking. Although if have tried this you would know that it is impossible to do. Companies SCREAM they want this and/or that out of new employees, but are unwilling to pay for these things they want. I did a report a while ago that compared the cost of an education and pay packages students receive once they graduate. The cost per year at the local colleges, around me, is $28,856 times that by 4 (for a bachelors degree) that comes to $115,424. Starting salary is about $40,000. They want someone to dedicate their lives for 4 years to learn a discipline then give them chump change in return. Not sure if you are a parent, but if you are that should be something that should piss you off. Your kids will soon be envious of what you make under a UAW contract. The starting pay for a lot of college graduates is not only a slap in the face for the students, but for every hard working parent out there. Doesn't matter if these parents are white collar professionals or they work in plant. The company that you are willing to say "God Bless FoMoCo!" about is just as guilty as every other company. I bet you are the type that walks in to a service department and scream that you are a ford worker and since you build them you know everything about them. I have ran into your type before. When I was at a dealer, near a bunch of ford plants, we had you people come in all the time saying your car is doing this and this is what it needs. Well we slap the parts on that these ford employees said the car/truck needed, and let it go. Every time we did this the car/truck would not make it down the street. The ford employee would come back, making more of an ass out of themselves than the first time, and this is what they were told: "We did just as you said. Are you now willing to allow us to do our job or do you want to go back to circle jerk committee at the plant for further diagnosis?" You said I needed to "just get the f**k off this forum!!!!!!!" YOU need to decide where you want to stand when it comes to being apart of a solution. Until that times comes you need to do one of three things: 1) SHUT THE FUCK UP! 2) GET THE FUCK OFF THIS FORUM! 3) GET THE FUCK OFF THE PLANET, because you are stealing oxygen that some one that is apart of the solution needs to think! Oh, one more thing, with your great "intellectual debate time" please get a spell check for your comments.
  4. Let's look at the original complaint. We have a customer that has a 40-60K truck that since 15,000+ miles has been a POS! So according to my math that is about 35,000 miles and this damn thing is NOT fixed. With payments being anywhere from $800 to 1000 a month (rough estimate) that is a lot of money to be paying out to be jerked off by EVERYONE. For that kind of money I would get rid of the truck save the $800-1000 a month and stay home and do it myself. This would be a cheaper solution and I would be ensured that it was done correctly. This not the case. The problems he is having with his truck are not uncommon for the 6.0L. I have a shit load of affidavits sitting on my desk that I either reviewed or in the process of reviewing. Maybe one day I will be able to see out the window in front of my desk, but with as many 6.0L out there and the 6.4L that is coming out I doubt I will EVER see out the window again. This is a fine example of an issue being a corporate problem. When I say "corporate" I mean every swing dick and set of tits that get a paycheck that says "FORD" on it. Doesn't matter if it comes from Dearborn or local shit hole ford dealer. FORD IS FORD! Let's get a term out there and define it first. A couple of post have used the term "coking". Coking is a by product of diesel fuel exhaust that is diverted back into an engine. This why for 2007 the is a DPF (diesel particulate filter) on trucks. Will it work? Who knows. We will just have to wait and see and learn about the system. Why you may ask is there "coking" problems with the turbo? Well nothing is perfectly sealed and some of this crap gets down into the crankcase mixes with the oil and the crankcase gases are then put through the turbo and we now have coking problems in the turbo. Will "cleaning" the turbo and the EGR valves help? NOPE there is no way of restoring all of the properties of the finish of these parts, at least not at a service department level. Those are the facts if you don't believe me do some research on the engines that have an EGR system and see the problems they are having. They will be the same. Plus after working on diesel engines for the last 20+ years I know what I am talking about. Now back to the original problem. Who is at fault as to why for the last 35,000+ miles this truck is POS. I will work my way up from the dealer to Dearborn. The dealers are under the gun by ford to keep the warranty cost down. How do they do this? By use of a 126 report. Ford says they compare ALL the dealers against each other. I have yet to find anyone that can explain the math of this 126 report. I have tried and tried to come up with their numbers and I just can't do it, this is coming from someone that got "A"s in calculus. Going by what dealers have told me about diesel repairs, if all dealers are high in diesel repairs then they should be somewhere close to "ZERO" on this report. The truth is that they are not. So in order to try and get their numbers down the dealers either don't do what is necessary to fix these trucks and find some way of putting a band-aid on the problem. Well, the band-aid idea SUCKS and doesn't fix the problems. The band-aid only brings back the vehicle with the same concern and pisses off the customers. If we look at the techs. The techs are doing what they are told by the dealer and ford as a band-aid fix. Or the techs at some dealers just don't give a shit and will do what ever is necessary to get the POS out of there and get what ever little pay that ford and the dealers are willing to give them. Techs are not paid hourly, unless they are in a union shop or they work for a white guy. If techs are paid hourly and allow to actually use the training they are given then they could be almost taken out of the equation. It would just fall on ford as to what they are willing to pay for repairs. So we are back to ford motor dictating policy. Now ford motor themselves. They are the ones paying the repair bill and ford is so far down in the shitter that they will do what ever is necessary to fix these things as cheap as possible. Ford is just buying their time with the 6.0L and they are probably waiting for the 6.0L to get out of warranty so they don't have to pay for them anymore. So there you have it. IT IS A CORPORATE PROBLEM. NOW......who wants to take a the first bite out of the shit sandwich? It has been passed around the table several times someone has to take the first bite! I have not forgotten about those that work at a plant and pointed the finger at the dealer. When you are ready to step out into a dealer, and work on these things under the same conditions that are currently in place, there are service managers out there that will be more than willing to allow you to hang yourself. There are some fine union people out there. You just need to teach some of your members how to be "team players". As for the guy that called our diag equipment a "calculator". That "calculator" cost about $6000. Here is the breakdown for you. PDA...................................$500 Laptop................................$2000 VCM...................................$2500 PDS kit...............................$200 Software Subscription..........$350 per year Broadband connection..........$600 per year (depending on provider) So, when you are ready to spend $6000 of your own money COME ON DOWN YOU CAN BE A TECH TOO! Until then SHUT THE FUCK UP! Oh, did I mention the other 60K in tools you will have to provide? BECAUSE YOU CAN'T USE MY SHIT!!!! Oh don't forget the training because I won't you a fucking thing!!!!! As far as the comparison to UAW pay scale. Depending on your classification you will be mid 20's per hour. Plus $1.00 something cost of living per hour. PLUS 12 holidays. PLUS your vacation and sick/personal time. PLUS you medical and dental package. PLUS you retirement fund. It all adds up. If you would like I can get a copy of your national contract and your local contract. We really don't want to go there trust me. If I have to do that much digging I WILL PUBLISH IT! Now if we compare that to a dealer tech. Dealer techs get 20-24 per FLAT RATE HOUR. They have to pay for their OWN MEDICAL and DENTAL IS NONEXISTENT. Retirement is some shitty 401K. Six holidays per year. Maybe 2 weeks of vacation and NO sick/personal days. All of this varies from dealer to dealer. Some are better than others, but they are few and far between. As for Skipper's truck. Can it be fixed? YES IT CAN. COULD I FIX IT? YES!!!! I have all the tools and equipment to do the job and I know how to use all of it. The problem is I work for a real company that doesn't do ford warranty work. Skipper would be just like everyother customer that comes in that is under the 5 year 100,000 mile warranty. He would have to pay for it out of his own pocket. Well, that just wouldn't be fair to him. Why should Skipper, or anybody else under 5/100 warranty for that matter, have to pay my employer to have something that should be "free" to him? I go through this several times a week at work. There are times where I am pulled off a job to look at a 6.0L that is UNDER THE FORD WARRANTY, and I tell them that "I can fix your truck, but I have to live with myself and I would not feel right charging you for something that is FREE to you." So there it is. WHICH ONE OF YOU FORD WORKERS WANT TO HELP TAKE A BITE OF THE SHIT SANDWICH?????
