  1. A two- tier wage has been taboo for the UAW for the purpose of solidarity. What if Ford and the UAW could agree that the Wixom plant would reopen and build the Focus and some other much needed small sporty cars and a new small truck. Except for trades all production would be paid the lower tier wage. This way all the people that work in prodution would be paid the same creating strong solidarity. Now add the ability to transfer to lets say DTP after 10 years of service to the higher tier wage through attrition. Just a thought!
  2. FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH Last month @ our local 898 union meeting Mr. King had good things to say about Cleveland & Lima engine. I believe he said they fought hard with Company to keep things from going to Mexico.
  3. Stop riding the brakes! Your wife must know how to drive.
  4. Have a look @ this. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/retirement/
  5. No, please let me in on the Beck Objective.
  6. Now let's just say I work @ Johnson Controls UAW Local 696 and have 23 years of service. And Ford wanted our plant 10/15/03. And because we made seats for Ford we would have full plant seniority @ all Ford locations. How would you feel ? NEVER SEND PAWNS TO CUT DEALS WITH SHARKS!! You just might get your head bit off !!

  9. No1Eman So why the Invite to the Company annual share holders meeting?
  10. Ok let’s see We all know Ford is in trouble. What can the employees do? How can we all Salary/ hourly make a difference? I know this is a pipe dream but it’s a thought. Instead of waiting for the ship to sink, like most of the posts suggest, I would like to think most of the people working at Ford have a 401k. Now lets set up a Employee Investment club with a president with the power to represent all our shares of stock. Buy as much Ford stock as your 401k’s will allow. Now lets put the pressure on Ford/ UAW to make the changes necessary to survive. What % of the company stock would we own? And how would Ford/UAW respond with the shoe on the other foot!
