  1. To apply for the job from the outside you had to PROVE Journeyman status (8 Years documentation) in the trade. In some plants they do everything the other trades can do, electrical, fabrication, hydraulics and welding machine repair. (The real general maint.). Some plants had Union approved training programs for becoming a W/R. This consists of the classes discussed before. Granted, there were a few "friends" that should have never been allowed in the trade but I've seen this in all skilled classifications. There is a science that goes hand in hand with the W/R trade. That is why ford has welding engineers.

  12. Right, more interested inbuilding cars for their big buck buddies that to build a car the peo;pe want, cna afford and create a buzz. No hi volume vehicles only specialty cars.
  13. Soooooo, Do you think the buyouts will all take effect as of Oct 1? It would give us 2 weks to decde and would be at the begining of the new fiscal year.
