  1. Can anyone at the Oakville plant tell us whats up??? How long may be the wait?? Thanks
  2. I do not like how the new transmissions cannot be shifted betwwen drive and neutral wiothout depressing the lock mechanism. When on slippery surfaces I often shift into neutral when stopping when it is icy. Now I risk hitting reverse as when you depress the lock you can miss neurtal and hit reverse. This really bugs me!!!
  3. It seems hetaed mirrors is a new option, should be included when the Heated windsheild is ordered. Any one know why a heated rear window is not available???
  4. My 2000 LS 8 sport is the same! I clean it the best I can.
  5. Quik LS if you do it post at www.thunderbirdtalk.com Regards
  6. Well it is plugged in but still does not work. There is power on the plg but when switched on no current to the elements. We checked the continuity with the plug disconnected and nothing to ground and nothing across the two large wires. Will the windshield need replacing, the dealer doesnt have a clue!!!
  7. It seems that if the heated windsheild is NOT ordered a plug is installed in the main wiring harness. If a heated windshield is installed the plug from the windsheild is plugged into this connector. Mine came with the heated windshield with the wiring harness plugged and the connector for the windsheil hanging loose under the hood!! It took over an hour of searching for the problem and I asked the mechanic to look at a demonstrator Sport Trac to see where the connector was plugged in. I have not been able to check if it works as there was no frost on the windsheild this AM.
  8. I took the light Camel / Camel. I have seen the black / camel insert and It looks good too. I felt the lighter interior looked richer! The black 'carbon fiber' accents around the center stack show up better too. You can see a bit of the interior through the window. Go Orange!
  9. The paint on my Orange Frost Sport Trac is just great. My 02 T-Bird had a few minor problems but I didn't want to have the issues repaired as they wee hard to see. I bought a fiberglass Tonneau from Leer, they ship them painted. It is as close to perfect match as you can get! Go for Orange!!!!
  10. The grill could have been from a 07 Explorer Ironman if on A sport trac, otherwise it could have been an Ironman option Explorer XLT, they come in orange frost, with black grill. See pic
  11. The 07 sport trac accessories catalogue shows an 07 sport trac with a body side moulding in the 'groove' near the base of the doors. Does anyone know if it is available? Is is shown on several pictures but is not listed. Is there one on the 06/07 explorer? Thanks
  12. Too bad the LS was not originally designed with a 4.6 and a Trac loc rear. Hopefully Lincoln could use the Mustang platform for a sport coupe styling like the BMW that the LS mimic very well. The only issue would be not to price it too high, it should be lower priced than the BMW, Infinity and Acura with as much Bag. A lot of other manufactureres have made a lot of milage using this type of thinking.
  13. I see a delete option on the cross bars, too bad there was no delete option for the rails too. I guess all the trucks are built with the bolting inserts in the roof to mount the rails. I thought about installing the Explorer Iron Man black grill but no availibility in the parts department yet! You were right Cal, the truck and color are awesome. Hopefully there will be no issue with the V8 and transmission, I see a lot of reports of problems and warrenty claims on Job 1 vehicles. The heated windshield is a great idea, too bad they didn't have the heated side mirror available with the windshield option!! Why wouldn't heated side mirrors be available??? The Explorer has them.
  14. The dealer changed out the grill and swapped the XLT roof rails and running boards from a black in stock XLT. The black roof rails are stored! The dealer had to order the Explorer grill through parts, he gave me credit for the original grill. The Ford badge on the two grills are different ( go figure) we had to order one for the Explorer grill. The bolt holes in the roof are covered with a trimline body side moulding painted body color, front to back on each side!! The tonneau is heavy enough to require a person on each side to lift it off. 4 bolts need to be removed to take it off. I have two new retro T-Birds and I have a winch set up in my garage to remove the hard tops. This can winch off the tonneau too.
