I think they're a little optimistic calling that a CUV when it looks more like a wagon, but that being said, I like it!

But how long ago was that? The Capri hasn't been sold in almost 40 years.
Its like people bitching about the Maverick being called the Maverick because it was some shit box cheap sedan from then 1970s.
The Mustang Mach E is just a bunch of crybabies bitching about the name and it being an EV, when its just an extension of the Mustang family.
I think the Mustang Mach E is a perfectly fine name for that car. Its name implies that it is inspired by the Mustang and has Mustang like styling cues in it. The point I was making with the Capri is that it isn't in the same market segment AND it appears not to have any influence from the original Capri. It almost looks inspired by the 80's Euro Escort which I thought would resonate better with buyers as the Escort was more recent. Of course the new Capri is under heavy camo , so it could very well be heavily Capri influenced and surprise everyone as well. After all, the prototype is camouflaged to deceive everyone before it is revealed.

A ton of Ford's ideas these last few years are these ideas that sound great on paper, and just fall apart with the execution. It's relatively well known that Europe tends to prefer more daring designs. So I agree with you, the decision to give Europe the chunky, Americanized designs, and America the funky and artistic designs sounds like someone got some wires crossed.
As for names, again, I just don't get it. Why Ford keeps putting sport car names on SUVs blows my mind. It would still piss a lot of people off, but Galaxie sounds like a perfect name to put on a new performance EV. It sounds futuristic, it's not going to upset as many people as calling a crossover a mustang. But they keep picking these names that your average consumer won't really remember, like Capri, but that will piss off the hardcore enthusiasts, who are the only people who really know what a Capri is.
Sad to hear this new designer is kinda dropping the ball, I assume that means you've seen other upcoming designs beyond the three rows, and aren't very impressed with what he's producing.
I've posted this many times here, but I thing GalaxiE spelled this way with the "E" is a missed opportunity.

It looks like is a sedan that will have a retro inspired style. So instead of Capri, why not Cortina, Orion, Escort, Sierra, Mondeo, Granada (Euro Granada was nothing like the USA one)? All of those would be a better fit as they were popular sedans in Europe in the past. The Capri should be a sleek design. At least with the Mach E, there was an attempt to make it sporty. I hope the camo is hiding something great, but as it is, that is not what a Capri is.

It looks good, but there isn't enough there emotionally style wise to make me want to buy it. A coupe really needs to be an emotional purchase to overcome its inherent impracticability.

Ah, of course! How could I forget that? With all the body styles it was the first raised sedan, CUV, and CUV coupe (a coupe with real 2 doors). There was even a convertible before the Murano as well.

but I'm calling the segment "cedan" - just like "crossover" didn't exist years ago.
Ford Five Hundred was there first.

And a traditional SUV. And a van. And could let Rivian focus on commercial business.Exactly what I was thinking. And with the Rivian products taking the traditional truck and SUV segments, Cybertruck could be marketed as a luxury toy sold for over 100k to action actors, sports stars and rap stars, much like the original Hummer and G wagon.

Too bad Amazon (with Musk's arch enemy Bezos) owns 20 percent of Rivian because Tesla could have bought them out for a pick up truck.
-
Isn't it also telling that when we are asked to remember our dream concepts, no one posted an SUV or CUV yet.

Now that Citroen is under Stellantis, that should be the new Chrysler 300.

That does not look good at all in red. It looks like something Clark Griswald bought after getting rich.

I've yet to see a Lightning (not surprising) and have never seen a Mustang Mach-E on the road.
In the Boston area, I see more Mach E Mustangs, more often than I see new regular Mustangs. The Lightning looks so much like a regular pickup that it takes me a few seconds to realize it is a lightning, so you may have seen them and didn't know it.

Wasn't Ford inventing a cable that had a built in coolant that would allow a car to be charged fast? What is the progress on this, or did this turn into vaporware?
-
I thought the 80's Mustang had wheels like that as an option and they were actually wheel covers that were grey. I think white is not the proper color as well, they should use grey or a dark chrome to emphasize the yellow body of the car.

I like the exterior. I think the interior is a bit spartan, but very down to business and not a cheaper material interior. There's a bit too much going on in the face and grille of the car though. The rear is also borderline too busy as well.

Boston Bruins or Pittsburg Steelers fans will look good in this...

“Why can Hyundai do a new family sedan and Ford can’t”?
Answer:
Why can’t Hyundai do F150, Superduty, Ranger, Bronco, Bronco Sport, Transit, Mustang or Expedition?
But Ford can and chose not to. The first years of the Taurus and Fairmont were well regarded, and the Fusion was excellent in all generations as well. But Ford let the sedans either disappear or mis handled them. Trucks usually have more loyal and traditional buyers where Ford is lucky enough to have strong products in those segments, and foreign competition have never been able to latch on.

It looks like just another luxury moose mobile that's already been on the market for 10 years with an updated grille.

I think it looks ok. Certainly better than the old design language.Joking aside it has kind of a mix of Peugeot and Mini Clubman mix to it.

So the styling went from a mutant Batmobile to Peter Dinklage's hearse.

It's nice, but it makes me think of the XT6 than the Escalade . I expected it to look like a Cadillac version of the new Hummer.

It probably has that cage/basket thing that folds over the open tailgate like the Sport Trac did.
But still, it's supposed to be a full size truck. The more news I see of this truck, the more I think it's going to be a total dud.
