I may be the only one, but I don't mind the styling of the Mustang II. I certainly prefer its look over that of the 1971-73. Of course, its "performance" is terrible, but a restomod could take of that.
I agree. That was my first car. People have to keep the time period in mind. Compared to other compact fuel economy cars, it was pretty good looking. Mine was solid red with a tan interior. It was sloooooow! But I was a kid, and the fuel economy allowed me to put money in the bank.

Good F&%*ing God, what in the ever living hell is this? The AMC Gremlin was used as inspiration I'm guessing.

It was Chrysler that started it in the Mid 70's and Lee Iaccoca rev'ed it up with his famous "Buy a car, get a check!" campaign.
Lee Iacocca had written about it in his first book. The dealers wanted more K cars and Omni/ Horizon /tc4Turismo/ Charger models, but Chrysler had a huge glut of cars like Codobra, Mirada, S.t Regis and other such automotive misfits. He said to the dealers, "We can't unmake them, so you have to sell them" Chrysler then came up with a rebate program and that annoying nationwide radio ad with the frogs saying, "rebate rebate" instead of ribbit ribbit.

Based on that rendering... it will have no rear headroom (unlike the current Challenger), and what's with the hood scoop on an EV?Most hood scoops aren't functional on gas cars either.

So the title of this thread said things will change. After reading what iamweasel and fuzzmoomoo said I don't see anything changing. Like I said before its all blah, blah, blah......
This scene always pops into my head when I hear about corporate promises:

I'm surprised they even bothered with this. It is not a CUV and cars are Kryptonite to American car makers. This has zero chance of spawning a car or any such thing for the American market. It has a low probability of making a China market car with these styling features, but I'm not expecting that either.

It looks like they're trying to split the difference between CUV and sedan. It is overall handsome, but needs more brand identity. Any label can be slapped on it and it needs to have a more Buick design language.

I hate to be a broken record but a lot of folks can’t charge at home because they’re in an apartment or condo or older home with limited electrical capacity. That’s why fast widely available public charging is a must for widespread BEV adoption. At one time, houses and buildings didn't have electricity at all or plumbing, or oil heat or natural gas, but the old houses were fitted with it over time or replaced. This is not an overnight change which is why I don't believe they hype that we will all drive BEV in a few years. At one time gas stations weren't a thing and you bought it at a pharmacy of all places.
Another idea is that a city like Boston can place parking meters in every conceivable place, then why can't they all be charging stations too. You'd have a captive audience to pay the meter.

Not really....consider the fact that you can recharge your car every night at home...
This!
I don't know how much more convenient it can get that not having to drive somewhere to fuel the car. Unless you make long trips, this is a great advantage.

8 million dollars isn't much. Are you sure it isn't 8 million shares?

They are really putting zero effort into making these 3 models different from each other.

I think Ford writes off those old vehicles so they don’t have to report on them. I don’t recall seeing that on past Fords.Although I was being sarcastic, I agree. I would hope if it gets to that point, Ford would auction them away like used cars to not have them on their books.

I think Ecosport will be Ford's Dart. In 2040 there will still be one randomly sold on the monthly reports.

Can't say I'm a big fan of that interior. Nothing about it looks like mustang design cues. I'm sure the materials will look better in a production car than a prototype, but I'm just critical of the design.

I saw a Rivian for the first time the other day and it looked pretty good on the exterior. Didn’t get to see the interior though.
One drove by me in Abington MA, and I have to say I liked it. It looks better in person.

It looks nice. It also looks like they adapted a Peugeot 2008 into a Jeep.

And as they accept the award, Ford tells them there is a $20,000 market adjustment on it.
