Well, obviously you offer nothing for your job as well. So you are saying that if you report to work everyday and do what you are told then you have nothing to offer the company????? My god man...you are sounding more like an ass hat every comment you make. I sure as hell hope you dont have children...and if you do I see them as the ones always getting picked on or getting their butts kicked because mommy and daddy are teaching them how the world doesnt work. I will pray for you this holiday season.
I don't work for Ford. I happen to be one of those loyal customers that keeps you employed. But even my patience is wearing thin with the crap that continues to be pushed out.
If Ford starts putting out crap again like they did in the 80's, I'm out of here. The only reason I continue to buy Ford is that they are putting their past behind them and starting the get competitive again. Now is not the time to relive those past glories. Those methods only worked because Detroit OWNED the market. Guess what? There is competition now and those trains of thought will no longer work.
You can think I'm an ass all you want but remember, there are hundreds of thousands of Ford customers thinking the same thing right now. The smart ones at Ford realize that many customers are on their last Ford car. One more chance and thats it. They blow this and those customers are off to the Tokyo Auto Show.
Look at GM... thats what happens when only fleet and employees are the ones buying your cars.

So what you are saying is that you don't want resolution, or your problem addressed?
You just want attention?
Big surprise.
still waiting for his "pal" to chime in on this.

here's a theory.
the heating elements are powerful enough to heat the bum under cloth and regular leather. They only put out so much heat to avoid burning the bum and getting sued.
KR leather is pretty darned think (compared to that cheapazz leather in the Lariat)
It could be you need a higher output heating element that Ford does not make/offer/sell because no one thought out the impact of the KR leather on the heating element. Kind of like taking a pot out of the oven with a bare hand vs an oven mitt vs a welding glove
As far as this being a new problem, the KR wasnt available in 04. I have also not heard of any complainst with the heating elements on FX4s and Lariats. Just the KR.
Just a theory.

Our retirees built what the were told to build, and how Ford wanted it it built. And 99% of our Quality problems come from design and cost saving.Neither of which do we have any control over.
so if you offered nothing then, what can you offer now? Nothing has changed with respect to Sr Mgmt decision making. If they tied your hands then, they would do the same again.
-
why limit this to just Ford.
Imagine a retro Aston (for the James Bond fans)
or a retro Jag that would stick it to the Solstice/Sky

I would like to see a separate forum for dealer complaints. The topic of this forum is not "True Confessions: I Got Screwed by Ford", it's "Here is my advice for how to improve the company".
not a bad idea. Maybe if we see certain trends in dealer service they can be addressed.
-
What do the retiree's have to offer?????
Also, you honestly think that the cars built back in the 70's and 80's are better "quality" then what is being built today?
2 points here,
It sounds like Richard wants Ford to consult with retirees for their "creative talents" My view is, they are part of the problem. They are the ones that made the half-assed cars of the day. EVEN if that statement is wrong, there are a whole lot of import buyers to believe its true. If you tell these people that Ford is dusting off the ones who made the crap cars that turned them off of Detroit in the first place... you will have destroyed everything the company has tried to do in the past 3-5 years with cars like the Fusion, 500 and F150.
And yes, cars are better today. Please dont confuse crumple zones with quality. That is government mandate, not a styling decision. There is no way a 1986 Mustang measures up in any way to a 2006 Mustang. Same with F150. And there is no way in the world you will convince me that the Granada is a better product than the Fusion.

What more needs to be said, really?
Bill looks like the biggest pussy since Clay Aiken. PR could have been used both ways, and the AFA could have been portrayed as the hateful little shitbags they are...but now Bill looks spineless, and the already floundering NA operations will likely suffer because of this.

Pa-fucking-thetic.
how is the CEO search going?

subjective salaries and increases are part of white collar, non-union life.
Most of the world does it this way.

J-150,
The viability of Ford and my future Pension payments go hand-in-hand. Ford, in an effort to cut costs, has been nibbling away at my Pension Income. One by increasing my Healthcare Drug Co-pay when in reality, when I qualilified for Medicare, my Healthcare costs to Ford went down significantly and two by eliminating the Annual year-end inflation adjustment.
I would like Ford to use the creative talents of current retirees to keep the Company viable and profitable. By your remark you apparently didn't understand my concern.
with all due respect, what do the retirees have to offer? Ford and the vehicles they offered us in the 70's, 80's and 90's are entirely the reason wht people have left for Toyota and Honda and are never coming back to Ford. Ford needs new minds and new ideas.
The reality is, Ford won't be growing anytime soon. What they need to do is stop the bleeding and stablilize first. I wouldnt expect to see any market share gains for 10 years (long enough for people to forget about all of the crap that was sold in the past)
-
Mr. Ford,
I care about the future of Ford. I frequently dream that I still work there only to wake up and find out I don't.
Please visit the "Ford Employee Retiree Network" part of the BlueOvalForums. Can someone at Ford begin a dialog with the vast creative base of retired Ford employees?
Or should we just let our Pensions be eaten away by inflation, gradually degrade our lifestyle, do less with less and eventually not be able to "afford a Ford"?
We want to be Part of the Solution not Part of the Problem!!!!!!!!!
so you didn't plan for your retirement and now you want more money

Someone better do something about this because this is unbelieveably crooked. And by the way, yes I did regular changes with high synthetic 5W-30 oil and Ford FL-820 filters with my mechanic. I'm going to dig through my records to get everything that I have, but techincally I should not have to show them that info.
ummm... if you did your own oil, then of course you need to prove that you did it and more importantly, did it correctly.

I wanted to send a "Big Thank You" to all of the workers at Dearborn Truck who did a magnificent job of assembling my F-150. It just turned over 20,000 miles on the way home from work tonight. It's been trouble free...one of the finest Fords I've ever owned.
Keep up the good work!
it should be noted that this is a new product line for Dearborn. These guys are new to making F150s (unlike NAP or KC plants) and they still did a kickass job!
A testament to the skill of the Dearborn workers.

On behalf of all the hard working people at DTP...you are welcome.
I too love my Dearborn F150.
But I want to know who left the half sandwich in the door panel...
:o

Excellent letter!

J-150: Loyal customers? Where? Who? What? If you don't like it, then don't look. Thank you. http://www.otisfordsucks.com
smarten up loser.
You are NOT a loyal customer. You wont be buying anymore Fords so why should Bill waste his time with you?
What part of this dont you understand?
-
great to see you are still plucking away too OTISFORDSUCKS..........keep up the great work, and maybe bill will care one of these day's about his loyal customers.....
hotwheels of insanemustangs.com
where are the loyal customers?
I only see former customers that never intend to buy a Ford ever again. Former customers that just like to whine about how hard done-by they are.
-
Yes! I agree with you! It's the best tactic to get rid of loyal customers one by one.... one at the time.... Call them "losers" and they will turn out into winners buying japanese.....
Ignore the problems by sweeping them under the rug.....
You don't need much eduction to do that.
BS! You are already lost as a customer. Bill could come to your house and personally plant his lips on your butt. You still are not going to buy another Ford so why waste the time.
-
if I was Bill I ignore you trio of losers too
-
the Fusion doesnt have enough engine?
have you driven one yet?
Or are you looking at the number 3 on it? Did you look to see that the 3.0 in the Fusion puts out more power than the 3.0 in the Camry AND Mazda 6?
Didn't think so.

If you're talking in regards to GM, if you haven't heard yet it 's the Oshawa #2 plant and the parts plant in St. Catherines that are slated to be closed. Shitty deal to say the least. Hope the Government wakes up and stops these foreign automakers from flooding the North American market SOON!!!
with Toyota opening a new plant in Woodstock, I dont see any government goining after them
GM/Isuzu Duramax V6 Diesel

they way Toyota is kicking GMs ass, they'd be silly not to.
That and Ford telegraphed a long time ago they wanted a V6 diesel in the 1/2tons. We also know that Toyota will offer a diesel in the redesigned Tundra. For GM and Dodge to not see this writing on the wall, they must be dense.
I would expect that within 3-4 years, all of the halftons will have diesels.Any manufacturer not on board will lose out.
