That's sad to see, Trim, that even up there in Canada, workers are facing the same abuse and mistreatment that they get here in the U.S. You are right about the company AND the union reading up on the laws that are already in place, but as you know all too well, THEY DON'T. Twincam, you couldn't have said it better! I totally agree 100%. We need more poeple like us to step forward and vote. It is my opinion that this year is going to see some very big changes on the political fronts, both parties. At the local, state and Federal levels too. For those who don't take the time to see what's going REALLY going on, it's no wonder your types flame us all the time, but that's ok. There are a lot of us out here and the numbers are increasing. Simply put: WE NEED TO TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY!!!

I did go the early retirement route, but also had other opportunities and a job lined up before I made the decision to retire from Ford. Taking an outright buyout or severance in my opinion was NOT an option. Those that took the outright buyout or severance probably have a lot of regret at this point is my guess. I could be wrong on that, however.

I left in January of 2007 at 56. No regrets, for the most part. Except that I do miss quite a few of the people I used to work with. But they also left as well, the vast majority, anyway.

I understand that those of us who are retirees are supposed to get it. I don't know if your husband retiring because of medical reasons would be excluded. Now here is a question that someone could answer, what about those of us who retired on early retirements? From what I see here on this topic, I think some clarification is in order.

I agree. We can survive if we have to. But if the companys want to move their business elsewhere, they will. Look at GM, they are in bankruptcy as we speak, and they still have a lot of overseas business that is doing good. Here in North America, they're just about done in many ways. Same goes for Chrysler. They'll do what they want, much as we dislike it intensely. Like you said, we don't have to grovel either, much as the CEO'S, Wall Street, Congress and other elitist shitheads think that is what we should be doing! FUCK THEM!

To tell you the truth, I don't know if Robert would either, he may or may not. His choice. But I think he may also understand why some of the posts that have been posted on this thread and the others here on the BON too. People do have the right express their thoughts and opinions on here, you know. Even if you do not happen to agree with them. Even if it may be offensive to you in perhaps a small way. No one put a gun to your head and said you had to join or else! YOU made that choice, not me, or anyone else! And by all means, you have a right to voice your approval or disapproval. That is your right and your choice. People are not as dumb as you may think. In fact, a lot us on here can very well see, hear, read and sense what is really going on in this world and how it affects not only that individual at a personal level, but the community and country at large as well. I understand why Stugots and others on this site feel the way they do, they see, hear, read and sense at a personal level as to what may well be affecting them. I take it you have a problem with that and want those of us who express ourselves like we do now and then, kicked off and banned from here, right? If someone was threatened outright, etc, I could understand that, but because someone thinks that some in this world may be doing things that are NOT in the best interests of all? I don't think so! Amen Brother! Mark Field's jet was a big slap in the face when they started their 'Way Backward' the past few years or so for downsizing Ford. As for Visteon, shit, I'm running out of comments, rants, criticisms, etc, etc, on these assholes, bitching like I have about them since they showed up on the scene since 2000. About the only thing I can see now that's left is ALL the loss of customer business, vehicle sales, and not to mention ALL of the human cost and carnage that is left now as a result. Yeah, it makes me madder than hell to see how our country could just give away the store.

I'm not sure how we can really answer that, Mettech. One thing is for sure, the North Koreans are a loose cannon at this moment, a VERY LOOSE one! And you can bet that my old military branch, the USAF and all the others are right now, on a very high alert. Scary.
