Dude, Explorer: What is your beef with smart cars? Did smart cars kill your father? You seem to really hate them.

If this thing only gets 40 mpg, what is the point of buying one, except maybe as a "fasion statement" ie Mini Cooper. Now if it could get something like 60 or 70 mpg, I could see them selling like crazy in the face of rising oil prices as a result of the recent fighting in Israel and Syria and Lebonon

I read in the paper that Honda is coming out with a new hybrid, due out in 2009, that will suposedly be small and more affordable than current hybrids. Does anyone know anything about this?
